The taking pics of your home to see the excess is scary but works...
Sounds like the drive work is all in hand! Great news re the work projectDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I’m with Lucielle - push for a GP appointment. It’s good news about the potential possibility of only needing to do part of the floor and not having to screed the whole thing. I think it’s a great idea to get the raised beds filled by the contractors - that way you can move straight to the ‘reward’ part of the job with planting 😊Excellent news about the job recognition. That must be a huge relief.KKAs at 15.07.25:

Great news that the job is sounding more positive and I agree about chasing the gp."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

TLDR: draw a picture/make a collage/artwork to interact with the stuff in a way that makes you see it differently. This could be it in piles, your cat peeping out of a stuff pile or even what it might look like without stuff. When it comes to stuff/clutter I think caring for Dad really made me look at space differently. I could write down a list of the thoughts that helped me change my perspective if that would be of use to anyone?3

I've applied for a new 21 month 0% card so I can continue stoozing my savings. I intend to use that for the hard landscaping so I can keep getting interest of £42 odd a month on my isa £ (worth £880 in positive interest over the period). It's only 0% on purchases made in the first 60 days of purchases which is probably a good thing as it deters using the card long term. It also preserves my cashflow (savings) if I were to lose my job. I still have other 0% cards on purchases.
I investigated a professional organiser but the first i contacted is fully booked until Jan. In theory DD and BF will come and help and I'll give them some £ as a thank you. I've agreed i can take a half day off when/if they show up.
I am going to test the floor. Then if it is OK pay DD's BF to rip it up for me. Otherwise I urgently need to get someone in. I've paid the floor deposit. Should be done in about a fortnight.
Not heard back from drive way person yet.
I missed the cut off for the GP so will try again tomorrow.
I have applied for a reduced water bill due to disability. I need to investigate what other discounts are available.
I've also registered my cat 🐈 at the vet. Once that's confirmed I can book an appointment for annual vaccines.

Thanks for the positive vote on paying for help with the compost too. I am trying to accept / seek help. The handyman keeps rearranging which is frustrating. Apparently there is an organiser association so may try that at some point. The person I looked into was £40 an hour plus mileage so not remotely cheap but if it made a long term difference could be worth it.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Bad luck on the GP call. What time do appointments open in the morning?
Well done for registering your 🐈 and following up on the water discount 😊
Hoping that the floor is innocuous and DD and BF can remove for you 🤞
Are you sleeping any better?

Hi KK - I was asleep last night around 12.45am so that was better but very swings and roundabouts. There's a GP website you can log your enquiry on but it's only open a few hours a day. They then triage accordingly.
In better news - my mechanic neighbour fixed my brakes for £30 cash. Total result. There are benefits in living in a 'cheaper' area. I'm going to therefore redirect the £ I earmarked for car bills towards help around the house.
I'm going to try and do a bit more tidying tonight. I may nip out for some easy food though as I don't fancy what I have in - and I binned most of my lunch...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
