    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks LWAP, WD, Jwil and TG

I've now booked my stays for my trip. I went via a cashback site for 3 nights which in theory means I should get 20% cashback - I'll believe it when I see it but if that happens it would be great and would release a sign up bonus for me and whoever originally referred me. This is on top of my main hotel booking. I may travel to the airport by train - and get a disabled person's railcard as I think that would be less stressful than the recent parking debacle. I've booked an airport hotel as I have another 4am check in. You'd think I'd learn but it appears not so far - ah well it maximises the time at my destination! My return flight is much nicer. Again my learning for next time would be to take the last flight back of the night before.

I've asked DS if he wants to come and cat sit part of the time and use my home as a holiday base. Will see what he comes back with. If he does - or if DD does - that could save me some £. I'm also hoping to go down and see DS and his partner before I go away. He has a spare bedroom now so may be able to do it without paying for an overnight stay which would be even better.

I need to log on and start work. I've been up since around 7.30am which is early for me. Thankfully I seem to be losing weight easily again. Not felt as hungry recently. Just need to avoid falling into bad habits once working again.

I picked up some cheap cat food from the corner shop last night - and after initially snubbing it he's now eating it which is a relief. I'm trying to avoid the shops given my current holiday spending.
