Sounds like the wind has got to you today then - we had really gusty weather all weekend, but it's eased a bit today at least. We found when we moved in you learn what "stuff" you can leave in a new garden and what stuff you can't in windy conditions!
You've reminded me that I need to do some ISA sorting - I think I'm going to transfer my last year's one to a better option with the C0v3ntry, and then open a current year one elsewhere which will then take a chunk of our joint long-term EF. The rest of it will still be accessible by MrEH if needed if anything happens to me, but that should massively reduce our interest liability going forwards.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

MRIs are stressful & I too hated having headphones on & felt like I couldn't breathe properly whilst I was in. I took one large breath in & that ruined one run.

Sorry that the MRI was so difficult for you.
well done on getting the 24/25 ISA sorted - happy new tax year to you 🥳3 -
Thanks Jwil, Beanie, Blackcats, BM and EH
The MRI sucked. To think I nearly went private!! That would have feltbeen worse abandoning that part way through. I left a message for my consultant but no response yet. I will say this for W healthcare - they've sent me 2 different screenings already. Of course I need to actually comply with them now but it's a start... The MRI staff were lovely too.
Making art was lots of fun. I bought an art book on creating whimsical type figures a few months ago and have had fun using that as inspiration. I have also done a bit more hoovering and front room rearranging. It looks much better with the new rug - and I've moved a cupboard to be central under the mirror that was put up a few weeks ago - and moved my plant table (on castors) to a different corner. It looks better there and open the room back up compared to when I had a chair there.
I unpacked a box of shoes from bedroom 2 onto a shoe rack that I'd moved under the stairs. I've put 3 empty crates back into the garage. Sadly I discovered a different crate I'd planned to use has broken - but I bought in on Am**** as part of a set and it was relatively expensive so I think I'll request a replacement. Worth a shot.
The bed company unexpectedly delivered the mattress today. They'd originally said 10 May!! The new mattress arrived in one of those shrink wrapped things that made it about a sixth of the size!! Freaky!! They said I should lay it out for at least 24 hours before I try and sleep on it. I daren't unwrap it yet. The base is due Thursday which could be a challenge as my handyman is back off sick. I needed him to move (dismantle slightly, move & reassemble) my current bed into bedroom 2. I had hoped he'd help with stacking up the still to be emptied boxes in bedroom 2 so the bed would fit... I don't know whether there's any way I could sweet talk the delivery team into resolving moving the old bed frame for me!! I think it needs allen keys - which I knew where they were at the old house but haven't found again since moving!
I need to perhaps try setting timers and do a bit in that room - or move stuff to my WFH room so that I can temporarily move boxes so the bed will fit. I've bought an ottoman - so was planning to rejig some of the bedding that's in the fitted wardrobes to go in there instead - and then some of the remaining boxes - would fit in the wardrobes.

That happened to me with a week's early bed delivery too, @savingholmes, it's quite disconcerting isn't it, even if it is great to see progress with something. I can't remember which company I was dealing with, but they were happy to put the base on hold for a couple of weeks when I explained it wasn't possible to receive it the day they had suddenly announced - it maybe worth a try if it suits you to do so. I didn't have to explain any further.
I remember my shrink-wrapped mattress bounced quite vigorously into life, but also really smelt for about 36 hours, they advised to ventilate the room and not sleep in it. It really needed it too! But no lasting odour.
Well done on all the progress you are making!3 -
Thanks Lucielle - sorry I missed you. I struggle with pacing all the time! But making art was positive.
On the ISA - I'm doing slightly better than I thought - I'm £130 away from £10K on the new one - so just topped that up. It has penalty free withdrawals. Good luck with sorting yours EH.
Tomorrow I have a builder coming to quote on the garage - then I'll know whether my plans are doable or a pipe dream and how much I need to save if I want to go ahead. He couldn't fit me in until closer to September. I'm currently delaying sending £ to AVCs as I don't want to erode my savings too much on the handyman - but I also need to make sure I don't fritter them. I had a quote on the patio door and a garage door yesterday for comparison but they were extortionate. I have a different company coming to quote on Friday for the patio door and downstairs toilet opening window.
I've just asked to shut down a CC with a £15K (thankfully unused) limit. I've frozen another card that I'm considering shutting down too. Mr A has an offer of I think £20 if I open a CC with them so I may do that soon. I like free £. I've just sent £400 to my 0% spends CC. Ideally next month I'd like to send another £400 to it so it only has the new bed and rug on it.
I've been doing a bit better at eating what's in my fridge and freezer so my food bill seems to be slightly better this month. I seem to be able to eat more of what I fancy now although I'm scared of pushing that too far.

Wow you have a lot going on! How could you even fit work in??! 😉
Hugs for the MRi, sounds rough.Lovely to hear that the chair move and then rearranging other items in your living room had such a lovely effect. A ‘free’ makeover 😊
Sounds like you are juggling the spending v. savings all very logically.KKAs at 15.07.25:

Thanks KK and Lucielle
KK - Trying to fit what I can in while I'm still off. After the builder comes need to go to collect my prescription and hopefully sick note.
Lucielle - you sound like you are close to being able to draw your pension (55 earliest) in which case because of the tax rebate your £ would typically grow a lot faster in a pension than an ISA. There are utubes in that if you want to see the difference over time. Feel free to PM me if it would help.
I'd best get dressed and breakfasted as builder due soon.
Dawn. Love it's beauty. Only briefly awake thankfully.
