That getting freezing cold is something I experience when getting very tired and i suspect it will be linked to more healing too - moving around will have raised your circulation and disturbed (in a good way) various bits of scar tissue so your body will have been too busy ‘housekeeping’ for a while to be able to keep you warm as well. So good that you had an electric blanket to shelter under 😊Hoping all that out and abouting means you slept well last night. Hope the eating continues well today too.KKAs at 15.07.25:

Sounds like you're now beginning the recovery phase.
Have a look at the specialist foods in supermarkets and health food isles at A and see if any of those match your dietary requirements.
Pace yourself by adding a few extra minutes onto something whether that's walking, standing or doing.
Ask HM if he knows of any cleaners or even a neighbour might help out for some cash.
Plants are great and your garden will be transformed when fully back on your feet.

Thanks MF, KK, Lucielle. @SuperSecretSquirrel and Jwil
SSS and Jwil - Yes - really hoping I'm on the mend now. It's been a scary time.
KK - that's a good explanation, thanks.
Lucielle - I've found the scraper on Am for £2.99 so ordered one - will see how it works. Thank you.
MF - I already asked a neighbour about a cleaner but no joy yet. The garden plans are coming along.
This afternoon I went to the garden centre at BnM. I got my pots, an elec screwdriver and a few Easter kiddie gifts. Then came straight home as still low energy despite sitting at times while out. I'm hoping to use the screwdriver to make holes at the bottom of my pots - and then need to take them around the back and temporarily plant them up with my new stuff. I found two different sizes of pots that matched the ones I bought before becoming ill - so bought 2 of each. I already have some compost around the back.
I'm gobsmacked at how low my stamina is. Hopefully it will gradually improve.
My eating is improving. Still on tiny portions of 200-300 Calories at a time but at least the sick feeling has stopped. Bread and banana for brekkie and then a small portion of chicken casserole (that I made last night) with extra peas and carrots for lunch. When I returned from the shop I had a small portion of ginger cake with instant custard. All being well I hope to have chicken fajitas and salad for tea. Decided not to buy any SW ready meals yet - due to stamina issue - and lack of freezer space. I now have a choice of meals available using leftovers from yesterday plus a SW braised steak option in the freezer.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Today I ate about 200 calories more than yesterday - and this evening even managed a small bowl of porridge. I definitely need to start planning my meals and especially my treats so things balance better.
I made holes in the bottom of 2 pots with a knife - but haven't yet added soil. Still need to sort the other 2. I moved the 5 plants I bought the other day to the back garden. Baby steps.
I'm finding the heat of the electric blanket very soothing - as parts of my abdomen and back still ache - just not at the level they did before.
Tomorrow I'm due to speak to the GP - and am hoping for a sicknote extension. My family suggest I ask what options I have in Wales for going to a different hospital as there's no way I'd ever want to go back to where I was (so badly) treated. Looking online I may have little choice unless I go private. I also need to see if she can give me a copy of my MRI referral as despite ringing and leaving a message twice with the hospital I've had no feedback on that.
I've just filled in a quotation form for a local private MRI and diagnostic appointment - as I have cover for both via a cashback scheme up to a certain limit. If I needed and paid for the operation privately however that would be all on me!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I wonder if the lack of stamina is due to draining down / using up the glycogen in your muscles? With time and more steady eating, that should come back?KKAs at 15.07.25:

Sensible idea about extending your sick leave. Sounds like you might have turned a corner and I hope you are now progressing on the road to recovery.2

Thanks KK, Blackcats and Humdinger
I've spoken to the GP who was very nice and spent about 20 minutes on the call. She said my experience - weight loss, fatigue etc all normal for condition. She was late calling me as was waiting for Friday's blood tests. Most of my results are back to or close to normal range except 2 or 3 which she said often lag - but she was pleased at the improvement. She's referring me to a dietician. She indicated she thought all the hospitals under this health board were similarly over-stretched - but I may be able to transfer my care by complaining and she indicated who I could contact. I need to go and pick up my new sick note later this afternoon which will give me a run out and hopefully allow me to pick up an owing item at the same time.
Check £ this morning and it wasn't there - but just checked again now - and it's in my account. Sigh of a relief. I can now rejuggle some of my £ around.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
