Not that this would affect me as not on UC, but I order loads of things for friends from Amazon as I have prime and they don’t.
I have 3 friends wanting me to order iPads from Costco this week same reason.
I would be up a creek without a paddle if a check was done on me.0 -
Presumably they pay you back though so it wouldn't be a problem even if you were in a position for them to be checking your finances.Bigwheels1111 said:Not that this would affect me as not on UC, but I order loads of things for friends from Amazon as I have prime and they don’t.

(And if you don't claim means-tested benefits then it's completely moot anyway.)0 -
Spoonie_Turtle so if my son opened an account with amazon and ordered say an ipad for me at my address, then I payed him cash wouldn't he have to report the cash I gave him to Uc?0

No, it's not treated as income.catlover57 said:Spoonie_Turtle so if my son opened an account with amazon and ordered say an ipad for me at my address, then I payed him cash wouldn't he have to report the cash I gave him to Uc?

Just another question please:) When my son was living with me he was paying for sky on debit on my account. when he left my home, the place he is in doesn't have a sky dish, so he uses his console to get sky(It's called sky go). So is it ok for him to carry on paying for sky on my account and address with his card?0

Like with all the other queries it's fine.... ultimately if ever there was an investigation at this sort of forensic level into his spending (highly unlikely) then explanations could be provided. He just needs to keep reporting his savings level if it changes to affect entitlement level month to month.catlover57 said:Just another question please:) When my son was living with me he was paying for sky on debit on my account. when he left my home, the place he is in doesn't have a sky dish, so he uses his console to get sky(It's called sky go). General advice though - perhaps wise to start aligning/untangling some of these arrangements... for example Amazon account as suggested. There may be practical benefits as well as offering greater peace of mind."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -

So when you say it's fine, it's not against Uc rules, but he would still have to explain? 1 -
Only likely if there was a formal (fraud) investigation and the chances of that are highly unlikely. Universal Credit are not forensically monitoring claimant spending... they may get information of levels of monies held in financial accounts but not at transactional level as standard. So to my mind it is only ever likely such an investigation would begin if they got information to suggest the savings levels reported were materially untrue. It would only be then that they would ask potentially for explanation of spending as statements are provided and even then unless there are any stand out transactions they may not be interested in the finer detail.catlover57 said:Ty Muttleythefrog (great name by the way
