There are probably lots of things still left on, the number can be quite surprising. Better to use a Tapo plug to get an accurate result.0

I m a bungalow so easy to scour round .only place I ve not looked is the loft ..I LL check that now as there is a plug up there .garage connection is disconnected. It measured the 900 w old microwave display window at 3 watts which I think is correct .Gerry1 said:There are probably lots of things still left on, the number can be quite surprising. Thanks Gerry ..the culprit was up in the loft ..an old CCTV camera power supply..The IHD is now measuring 0 watts so less than 1 wattGerry1 said:

We've saved you £20 a year - evidence for the next "smart meters are useless" threadSAC2334 said:

Doesn't need a £400+ smart meter to achieve that, a £30 Energy Monitor would have sufficed... 🤓MeteredOut said:

I think these are known as "plug sockets" now - language changes over time but this one grates with me too! Presumably by the same reasoning and for consistency the thing that your insert into it is called a socket plug? In the old days we used to insert the plug into the socket, but now, to avoid confusing anyone I assume we insert the socket plug into the plug socket. That's progress......

I walked out on EDF they were so useless finding excuse after excuse after excuse. I've yet to have an IHD actually work properly. I've got a drawer full of them left in my "you never know" for parts drawer...

I've got three EDF ones in a draw somewhere as well. Every time they sent a replacement and I enrolled it with the meter, I got the same fault. Just sat there displaying "Awaiting data". They must have been connecting to the meter as the time showed correctly and they displayed a full signal strength but that's as far as I got with them.chaoszone said:I walked out on EDF they were so useless finding excuse after excuse after excuse.
