Why wouldn't you want to confirm your address? Why wouldn't you want to use email? If you're so worried about giving them your email address, set up a free gmail account just for this issue or if you're an Apple Mac user, use the "Hide My Email" function (other brands with similar options are available).

Thanks for the comment, I understood it would be ok and to be honest I might be overly cautious, but you are right, I could easily setup a parallel email account in any case or simply if required block them on the email. TBH just want the communication with these scammers to come to an end, I'm tired of them trying to get money out of the scam they have setup,

Hi guys, so the "saga" with this scammers continue. After sending them the email and confirming they could use my email to contact me - I should have used a hidden email but well it is what it is - they contacted me back with this comments below after sending the LOC reply I copied to you in this thread:

We write in response to your correspondence received in our office dated XXXXXXXX

 We now respond to the same as follows.

  The Notice to Keeper was issued to you on 1st March 2024 (this is a mistake, in fact NTK was sent in 2023 an out of the 14 days by POFA etc). A copy is enclosed. You were afforded the opportunity to; appeal the parking charge, transfer liability to the driver (if it was not you) or make payment. Neither a successful appeal, nor an adequate nomination were received, yet payment remains outstanding. Vehicle was left in Southgate Park Car Park without payment for parking. Copies of Images of the Vehicle entering and leaving are enclosed. The Parking charge was issued correctly. Our Client has not complied with the Protection of Freedom's Act 2012 so your points outlined bear no relevance to this claim.(so basically the admit their NTK is non POFA compliant and they don't care)

The Reminder Notice was issued to you on 05th April 2024 (they are mixing up dates here, where DBCLegal reminder was in 2024, the case was previously handled by CST Law, but not of a NTK as the NTK was sent in 2023?????). A copy is enclosed. This notice reiterated that payment was outstanding and confirmed that legal action may be taken and additional costs incurred if the parking charge was not paid. 

You now have 30 days from the date of this email to make payment of £170.00. Failure to make payment may result in a Claim being issued against you without any further reference.

Payment can be made via bank transfer to our designated client account: -

• Account Name: DCB Legal Ltd Client Account   
• Sort Code: 20-24-09   
• Account Number: 60964441

You must quote the correct case reference (XXXXXXXXX) when making payment. If you do not, we may be unable to correctly allocate the payment. If further action is taken by us as a result of an incorrect reference being quoted, you will be liable for any further fees or costs incurred.

So not only they don't care about being or not POFA compliant, but they are trying to justify their actions in 2024 considering the NTK was issued this year instead of in 2023, and justifying they are still entitled to pursue the penalty on that basis. 

To me this is a big amount of rubbish, and they just ask again and again for the money to be paid which is how they keep this whole scam going on. 

Could you help me on how I should either reply or not to this email, and would be the next steps? Wait till the claim, do nothing, reply? Thanks for the inputs.

Well , after a while, I've got some update on this and I've received the Claim Form from the Court, as I understand was expected right?

Now after reading it I'm completely puzzled about the face this people have and shows the kind of scammers we are facing. So POFA  is valid to their customer to pursue me as the keeper, but they don't need to comply with POFA 2012 rules???!!!!! I beg your pardon???

Is this some kind of a joke or am I missing something here????!!!! 

I understand the 1st thing I need to do is to AOS in moneyclaim.gov.uk, correct? That should extend the time for my defence for additional 14 days.

Could someone help me out to confirm then next steps and how to argue this? It's just crazy the face of this people!!!

PS: The driver has never being named and they've always pursued me since 2023 as the keeper, but just to add some more info, the parking they are referring to is the one shared between McDonals and Starbucks in Stansted, and this parking has no machines available to pay for parking, so even if the driver at the time would have tried to pay for parking they had no option available. This carpark in particular has been showed on TV and there are plenty of videos on Youtube.

I have not seen this but goodness me!!!! Thanks for showing me this, it's clear there is a modus operandi here from this scammers. The sad thing is the amount of time they are making all us and the court lose, and the gov should have stopped this by now, it's clear they are making a "business" out of scared people along the process.
