Ive been offered the double up but am not a huge Sainsburys shopper. Maybe once a month or so for things we cant get at Lidl. Only had enough to double up to a £20 voucher with just over 1000 points left.
Was hoping to use on the wine deal ( 25% off six bottles) but see wine isnt included. except Taste the Difference Wine.
Not sure what the pricing is on those so will have to do a bit of investigating.
Seems who they offer the double up to is totally random.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
The App seems to have crashed ….As at 15.07.25:
- When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £233,521
- OPs to mortgage = £11,816 Interest saved £5,28 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030
Read 40 books of target 52 in 2025, as @ 29th July
Produce tracker: £243 of £300 in 2025

Got App, been offered the double up but every time I try to create a voucher it claims I've created one but it isn't in my saved area and my Nectar balance doesn't change so clearly it's failing. I've even tried deleting and then reloading the App and still it doesn't work!

Used 8000 points today. Had just over 10000 so could have maxed out the offer, but the £100 voucher wasn’t shown in the app and the highest it would give me was the £80. The £20 voucher for 2000 is now showing as available though, so I could presumably max out another day. My items were exactly £80 and myself and two staff members had a faff trying to get the self-service till to conclude the transaction and give me a receipt, as clearly no further payment was due. I’d probably buy an under £1 item just to avoid the issue in future.
I’m wondering if the best deal was available to people who were able to get to the store by yesterday - as the 25% off Clothing offer ended then. Unless the ‘double discount’ would have been prevented, clothes could have been had for 37.5% of the price. In previous years the 25% off offer always ended just before Double Up started.0 -

I think the way this has been offered by Nectar and Sainsbury is completely discriminatory. When I questioned it with Sainsbury’s on messenger, they said they look at customers spending, but will not divulge criteria. Points earned are points earned and everyone should have this offer. Perhaps someone at Money Saving Expert would like to take this up with Sainsbury?1

The fact that some people aren't given this offer is no different to some people not being offered greencare dishwasher tabs for £2.40 like I am this week.1
