SHOWER HEAD HOLDER REPLACEMENT

Hope some kind person can help me in my task please.
Have this type of shower not quite exactly the same, mine has a square overhead shower:
how to remove shower riser rail featureUnfortunately the shower head holder (half way down the pipe) has broken, I cannot see how to get it off, I known it has to be slid off either at the top or bottom, but no way can it come off at the bottom as that is where all the controls and diverters are located.  My question is how do I slide the holder off at the top, as it seems as though the pipe goes directly into the fixed shower at the top, so am assuming if I try to remove it then I will have problems putting it back again.
I do hope someone with more brains than I can solve this for me
Thanks

    Hi Phil.
Easy! It's taken off in the opposite way to how it was put on.
Now we just need to figure out the make...
If you could post some photos of your actual shower mixer, the holder, the wall clips, then we can almost certainly help.
But, also almost certainly, that riser pipe will detach from the main mixer. That might not be necessary, tho'.

  • Hi and many thanks for the prompt response, I will have to buy a new holder, will measure to make sure that I get the correct one, but need to get the old one off first!
Here are three pics, starting at the bottom, the middle and then the top, with the fixed shower head:

  • Hi,
just shove it to top or bottom out of the way and fit a universal holder that clamps round the pipe.
Chrome Adjustable Shower Riser Rail Slider 19-25mm
Have you checked to see if that is the type fitted?

  • Yes I have checked and the pipe goes through it, its not wrapped around it, so are you saying I cannot get it off from the top?

You definitely can - there has to be threaded connection somewhere. Or even simple push-fit with a rubber ring seal. The only question is how easy will this be for you.
    Shower model?

I am sure the chrome pipe screws out of the control unit ,it would have come like that in the box ,you might have to take the whole thing off the wall to get the swan neck to turn round ,others with the same shower will be along to confirm.
  • Will wait and see what other replies I get
  • The diagram page 11 seems to indicate that the pipe just comes out after undoing the wall bracket

I see compression joint with a nut and an olive at the bottom and a threaded connection at the top of the vertical pipe. If so it's the top that you need to disassemble to remove/replace the holder, but, most likely you'll have to unscrew the hidden nut at the bottom as well.
