Evening all.
I hope the gale has blown past most, if not all, of you by now. Here we had a rough time between about 11.00 and 2.00, and I got blown up the hill to Action Heart, but the sun shone for most of the afternoon and things are settling down again this evening.
K helped me clean the house from top to bottom this morning. Hopefully it will stay clean for at least 2 weeks! I have also done WMx1 and TD'd most of it, so it is all airing on the bathroom radiator rather than taking up lots of space on the two clothes horses.
I had a win-win this afternoon. I took back to MrS the underwear that I had bought yesterday because it was a size too big, and received the £8.50 refund with absolutely no quibble. Then I went and found a pack of the right size, also £8.50 - except that they have a Save 25% on Clothing offer going atm, so I only paid £6.37
The trousers in MrS that didn't fit me yesterday were marked at £15: no, I didn't buy something that didn't fit me today either, but later I braved Merry He11 and got a nice pair from Em&Ess for what I thought was a very reasonable £17.50 for better quality, but I had found an Em&Ess gift card when I changed handbags and proffered it with very little hope of it still being in date or even unused. The assistant said "You've got £2.50 on the card", which I thought better than nothing, but then she said "... and that's after paying for the trousers" so I got the trousers for free and still have the £2.50 which I hadn't expected
Very MSE!
Old Wives' meeting this evening - I must grab something crafty to do and get going... See you in the morning xxx8 -
@roundtuit we are about half an hour from Hawes. I really, really feel for them. So many farms flooded here: crops lost and livestock too.The middle bit in our field is over my wellies in water. Still blowing a gale and even taking the dogs out for a wee is a challenge (& creates filthy floors). X9

still blowing a gale over here on the east coast.. I'm sure it will pass but in the meantime it is hurrying those rain clouds away.. it is blooming freezing though.
DW half unloaded.
Dinner cooked and pack ups done.
DS2 took Pixie to and from dance class.. cost me bus fare.. but got them home safe and dry and warm!
I need to sort the hat/glove drawers.. there are so many with holes in there.
Nail repair booked for 10 in morning.
Coeliac test negative.. that's a win for me.. I've not had many of those! I do still have the allergies to wheat and rye but barley and oats are ok.

I had gift cards from children at the end of the summer, took one to Pr!m@rk thinking there was £75 on it, but £25....still good. Recently found the £75 one, so a shopping trip is due!! ( both cards, class collections, as doing PPA, I'm in a number of different classes x)

Hi all
A good (long) day at the paid stuff. I work with someone who manipulates things to make herself look good and today I found out that she lied to make me look bad. I am meeting her tomorrow and I need to think carefully about how I play this. I won't let her get away with it but she is cunning and clever and I could make things worse, it's ridiculous, we are not children but she behaves like one.
So lots of positive thinking has been required today. DH has not worked. Flying has been minimal. Weather is appalling. I did manage a 30 minute strength training session first thing which I am pleased with.
I will catch up with everyone tomorrow.

YORKSIRELASS, I hope that you resolve problems with work colleague, I am generally useless and tend to roll over and just take it, which makes me feel worse!!
DD is home, she went to meet friends straight after coming home and now she is shattered and gone to bed.
She is having dinner with us tomorrow, then a nap, and driving back!!
I have asked her to connect the new router and pack up old one ready to send back before I get charged £50 (even though, I was told on Livechat that I wouldn't be charged!!)
Not sure if OH wants me to do do a shop for dinner, or if he is going to do it, will check in the morning x
Have a goodnight all xx9 -
That's good news; I'm wheat and rye too but also potato which is a pain - long live oats, barley and maize!pigpen said:

Rather wild weather here too even though I'm SE/E Anglia. I dropped Mr N and BIL to the station and the road from there to my zumba class was very wet indeed, leaves blowing everywhere.
Went to the library on the way home from zumba, met a flood about 5 mins from home but fortunately passable.
Finished and emailed a report. Started another one.
Did some drumming practice.
Did a bit of tidying/flying but actually it isn't too bad as we cleared up for BIL's arrival.
Sorted various admin tasks - cc paid, bank a/c checked.
Picked up the 'boys' from station then went to Mr T as BIL is a retired employee and gets staff discount; today it is 15% off so we stocked up and saved £40 including clubcard deals.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Went to the building society today. They had a leaking roof and the counters were closed but fortunately the interview rooms weren't and we had an appointment so were ok. Came back and washed some towels and then did 3 TD loads. Prepared lunch and washed up and then walked to the shops and back (about 2 miles or so). Bought a nice book of Christmas short detective stories on the way back. Made tea, then supper, washed up again (how I hate washing up lol). Did a Waitrose delivery order, ordered some advent calendars for SIL and two friends and also us. Did some internet research for somewhere to have lunch tomorrow with a friend after a visit to a stonemason (she wants to order a gravestone for her late partner's grave and she asked me to go with her). Administered several lots of eye drops/ointments.

Morning my lovelies xx
Back to work for me today so my anxiety is through the roof. However I have to go, so I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast and I'm supping a brew.
CoG - it has never occurred to me to buy myself an Advent calendar 🤦♀️
YL - I can't abide liars. We have them here. Mostly I let it ride for an easy life but I did once call a colleague out when she constantly lied about another colleague. It didn't make any difference- she still lies....but not about that colleague in front of me! If they lie about me I usually let it go - with gritted teeth - and let my work and my past history speak for me. They tend to trip themselves up eventually. I'm known for being too honest. How is that even a thing? Good luck xx
Heigh ho I suppose I ought to make a forward move. Have a good day everyone.

first of three consecutive ‘up early’ days. I have found a friendly plumber (he volunteers to do building maintenance at work) so he’s coming to fit my replacement hand basin taps as i ruined the others with lime scale remover (lesson learned) and the hot tap is hard to shut off, so, in the long run, this will be moneysaving, i’ve lost count of the number of times i’ve gone in and the taps is running. He’s due at 9.
We got called to mums yesterday, she injured her leg, possibly at volunteering. Dad thought she could take care of it as she’s a trained nurse…he doesn’t always get how the dementia affects her. They’d called 111. So DD spoke to them and explained (they told us someone was going to visit) while i cleaned and dressed. As it happens they’d got that wrong, no-one was coming out. But my well-stocked first aid bag and training did the trick. It became apparent she needs a chiropodist, again Dad not realising she can’t cut her nails. I could do it but she can afford a consultation so i’ll book her in where I go. Then Dad had a panic about not being able to drive…I’m less than 5 minutes away so it’s not an issue. While I’m at The Deep tomorrow DD will be here.
