The T&Cs in the email don't seem to specify any excluded transaction types, so I presume ATM cash withdrawals, deposits into savings accounts and payments to credit cards would all count.

The terms and conditions say you need to "Spend on your Debit Mastercard", which certainly rules out ATM cash withdrawals, because that's not spending.

Yep, no qualifications on the spend type. I've set up £1/day top-up of my Amazon Gift Card balance.

Need to find 1 extra transaction to make count up to 21 by 30/11.
  • Had the e-mail, tbh its going to have to be put behind the Barclays 5% cashback, the Santander 1% cashback and the TSB 20 debit card payments as they guarantee a payout of some description.

    But where there's a will!

It does seem a lot of faff for (almost certainly) no return. Even the prize isn't anything to write home about. I'm not even sure I can be bothered.

    2 Questions...

    1) Couldn't you just buy 21 top ups in a row of £1? (on the same day?)

    2) Buy an additional £1 top up on one of the days as well as the reoccurring £1/day?

    ---

Also with the TSB transactions being able to pay into other savings accounts wonder if its worth trying that with this one?

I know it doesn't say but makes me wonder if the debit card transactions have to be cleared (which takes around 1-2 working days) for the prize draw or not?

Good, increases my chances of winning. :)
  • Why is there a link in the email to opt out?

Surely you just need to not use the card the required number of times??

Think I've had that card for nearly a year, and only used it once.

Some people have an aversion to games of chance, and need the opportunity to exclude themselves.

I can’t see it working for me. First Direct has been my least useful current account, with the 7% saver being the only attraction.

I used an extra manual top up

    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."
