New/Refurbished Desktop PC - advice please

My Mum needs a new computer - the one she has must be 10 years old and is on its last legs and can't really be upgraded any further. All she needs is a new tower - the monitor, camera, speakers, printer, mouse & keyboard she has are all fine. I'll be able to back up any documents and photos she has stored on an external hard drive and reinstall them onto her new computer. She does not want a laptop as the screen would be too small for her and likes the familiarity of the current setup.
She uses the computer for checking email, surfing the net and Skype to keep in touch with the family. As a former secretary/PA she uses Word and Excel, which I can install for her. She is familiar with Windows 10 and would prefer to stick with that.
Can the forum recommend a good source for a new/refurbished tower that will not break the bank?
Any help and advice appreciated.

W10 only has another 2 years of supported life, I'd strongly suggest biting the bullet and having W11, it's pretty similar. I had a 12 years old pc on W10 that I upgraded this year. However, I can't recommend anything as I gave a local pc nerd a £1k budget to build me a tower as future-proofed as possible plus include a new monitor which is on the large size. The speed of the new set-up is brilliant and the only real issue I've had with W11 is turning off anything that backs up stuff to the cloud which seems to be the default.1

I got a laptop last year (Lenovo from John Lewis about £500) as being a good flexible option. I have it set up with a keyboard, monitor and mouse and 99% of the time the laptop doesn't move. I did take it when I was visiting family a couple of months back as I knew my tablet would do what was required as I needed the Office stuff. It's nice and compact and as I have no floor space for a tower it works well for me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Thanks - I'll have a chat with her to see if she would be comfortable with W11 but I fear not!

£500 is way above the price range and she has made it clear to me that she wants nothing to do with a laptop!

Windows 11 is really Windows 10 with rounded corners. It won't take long to get used to it and I would really recommend that you get a W11 pc now rather than W10.
What about something like https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=7M500EA&opt=ABU&sel=DTP2 -

Thanks for the suggestion. We were hoping to find something well below £200 (perhaps refurbished?).

Look at somewhere like https://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/ then
You won't get anything particularly future proof for that money but you will be able to get something.1 -
Thanks - will check them out.

You have a few from which to chooseAll with the ability to upgrade to Windows 11 when appropriate(if not already installed).
