  • Having read this thread and followed the link to the terms and conditions of the offer I phoned the call centre again speaking to a different agent everything is apparently on course for payment by 17th January having made my 5th debit card payment on 27 December. 
  • I've just done my 5 transactions using my global money account. 5 x 50p to my Octopus Energy account.

    I'm not expecting it to pay out automatically but I figure i might as well seeing as they paid out the £125 after I complained!
  • I didn't receive my initial £125 despite fulfilling the criteria. After using the chat facility on the HSBC banking app for an hour the agent was none the wiser why I hadn't received the bonus (she tried to blag me that I had a First Direct bank account so wasn't eligible but I confirmed the T&C's stated that I was eligible as long as that account was opened before Oct 2018). The agent raised a complaint and 2 days later I received a phone call to say the reason I didn't receive the bonus was because I have held/hold an HSBC credit card and in this scenario the bonus is not paid automatically but must be done 'manually'. The full amount (£205 as I had met the criteria for the additional amount too) was paid into my Global Money account immediately. Hope that might help some applicants.
  • Got my application in on 26th Oct 2023. Didn't hear anything and eventually open the account 4th March 2024. didnt receive anything, when I rung they said they could only go from the date the account was opened. I wnt through a lot of trouble for nothing :-(
