Issues with debit card payments to YBS

The past two days unable to pay money into my old legacy YBS savings account using a debit card. I have attempted to use two cards, one Halifax and one TSB and both get declined yet both worked fine two days ago, any thoughts. I am aware they have stopped customers setting up new direct debits now.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

Worked for me yesterday 2/11, £500 to YBS Internet Saver Plus using Halifax DC.
Usually yo-yo £500 to Revolut for Halifax bribe but it's decided to go pixels-up on my phone.1 -
I've just managed to make a £1 deposit into an internet saver using my TSB debit card without any issues.
Do you have an ad blocker installed on your device at all? I've had a few banking technical issues related to ad blockers in the past. Metro bank once suddenly stopped letting me set up new payees online whilst I had privacy badger switched on and I've had issues applying for Skipton accounts online when another ad blocker was in use. Each of these resolved themselves when I've temporarily disabled the ad blocker.2 -

Have you tried making any deposits into other savings accounts using those debit cards since the YBS issue appeared?
You mention in your original post that you are trying to make deposits into an old legacy YBS account, how old is the account? Have you any newer YBS accounts that you could try making deposits into? I'm wondering is there may be some sort of technical issue with old YBS accounts that's suddenly appeared for whatever reason. I seem to recall when the clocks went forward this year YBS thought everyone had been last logging into their online banking in 2093 so unless the clocks going back again could've set something off again?? I've only been using YBS since 2022 so can't test if there's anything strange going on with older accounts that isn't affecting newer accounts myself though.
Have you tried using different browsers? I've had frequent issues with getting various webchats to work, with Natwest's webchat not working appearing in Chrome sometimes, but will sometimes appear then keep randomly disappearing whilst in use from time to time. It usually works in one of my other browsers but can be hit and miss, Santander and Nationwide are the same.

Have you tried clearing your cookies before logging into YBS? I've found this has never resolved any of my technical issues but it seems to be a suggestion that pops up a lot from technical teams whenever I've had technical issues before.
I appreciate this may be a slightly extreme method but it could possibly be worth opening an internet saver and seeing if that'll let you make your opening deposit by debit card. If that works then it would seem there is an issue with that specific account.
If this fails then I'm beginning to run out of ideas. I'm intrigued though, what the devil is causing this issue. I just hope you haven't developed my knack for inadvertently doing strange things to technical systems, if this is the case then good luck to you.1 -
I have had this problem with YBS only a few times amd more frequently a year ago.I usually try again in a few days when it will probably be successful.If you are using this for the Halifax reward then it is best to try early in the month so that an alternate strategy is possible.It only seems to happen with YBS and never with Skipton or Cambridge.2
