My previous post.....IWannabedebtfree wrote: »Ok, I'm having to hold this one as I describe it, as have no idea what it is- homemade from MIL-it's red and green striped with sewn on knitted holly(a la Xmas)knitted, bit like a teacosy, with a hole for a spout and a loop to hang it up- much smaller than a teacosy, about the size of an ostrich egg?
I KNOW WHAT IT IS NOW!! I plucked up the (considerable) courage to ask MIL today when she came to visit. She saiD, "Oh, you know, it's one of those things that you fill with sweets and hang on your tree". Ahhhhhh! The "spout" hole is so that you can fill it. Now that I know what it is, I quite like it!0 -

My MIL has a thing for buying me and the kids (all teenagers) coasters. Not sets: Single ones from garden centres/stately homes etc she has visited on her OAPs bus trips. The kids faces were a picture on xmas day as they unwrapped one of these each as she beamed and launched into a lengthy description of each day trip where she'd purchased one!!0

We had a lot of wonderful christmas presents. The worst was one slice of christmas cake wrapped up and was to all four of us. My DH and 2 DD's age 18 and 21. We didn't argue over who was going to eat it as none of us even like christmas cake. It was from my DH cousin and his wife. What were they thinking.I have yet to ring them up and thank them. When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile

Are your kids tots that don't understand or old enough to be bemused?
On the subject of names. My son's name is 3 letters long and his nan and aunt still spell it wrong.:rolleyes:0 -
