I think your only option is to claim on your normal house insurance, all expensive items should be included so that situations like this are covered - when you next renew your policy re-assess your other items too.1

You should've more careful with you property and take out insurance on expensive goods.2 -
Much as if your car got stolen the car manufacturer has no reason to be in anyway connected then I don’t see how a jewler can be connected to a stolen ring.3

When you've heard of, say, people being burgled, do you think they then just go around the shops asking for free replacements for everything?6 -
How did the ring get stolen?
Maybe if you told us what happened for it to get stolen you would get some answers.2 -
@Olivia779 update/extra info please.0

I still don't understand the context of the original question and the further reference to "excuse".Would help to understand what has happened and what the OP is hoping the outcome might be.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

Olivia779 said:I paid quite a lot is there an excuse I can say?Are you suggesting being somewhat less than honest in order to try and somehow get the retailer to cough up for the theft? I see a pattern emerging here ..... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6478611/virgin-active-gym#latest"I was wondering am I able to cancel it? A possible lie?""I did hear someone say about if you have a medical note from your GP they can cancel the membership"I can't make my mind up whether the OP is simply trolling or genuinely has a severe lack of moral compass.

I do doubt we are going to get any more information as the OP logged on this morning but hasn’t answered any questions.5
