Apologies for the late reply. I didn't receive a notification.

I actually have a mediation date now. September 11th. I will update once this takes place. I presume it's OK to offer a fiver or a tenner as settlement?

Yes: see the first 8 steps in the Template Defence thread. Mediation is covered.

While your case is quiet, I hope you - and Marcus12b - are keen to do the MHCLG's Public Consultation this week? Closes on Friday.

Even though defending a claim is new and stressful for you: please then do the government's Public Consultation. We need every poster to complete this vital survey before the deadline.

    See this thread: -

I've written some guidance on that thread. I have covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.

Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam 15 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.

  • Just an update on this.

    Had my mediation call.

Original amount they were claiming (in the Court claim documents) was £335. For the mediation they reduced it to £325.

    I said £10

    They reduced it to 225.

I said 15 as final offer. They reduced to 135 (which is the very initial bill I got through the post - £100 - plus court fee - 35) as final offer which I didn't accept.

There were 2 calls. the first one in which mediator expressed the position of the claimant and their offer and in which I explained very briefly my defence and my offer, lasted 8 mins.

The second call during which the mediator came back with the claimant's counter-offer and also my counter-offer to them (the two parties were put on hold to go back and forth) lasted 12mins.

    The mediator was very courteous.

No settlement so we proceed to court. Apparently it will take some time (a few weeks they said) until I hear from court.

Thanks for all the help so far

    Good!

Also take a look at the new idea of posting and/or social media sharing of the 'Parking Charges' fake 'PCN' message created by @kryten3000

This is a new idea for a simple campaign to keep this matter current, to alert Martin Lewis and Watchdog, National press, the Financial Conduct Authority and Competition and Markets Authority, etc.

It's at the end of the thread in a reply today:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6617396/parking-code-of-practice-consultation-now-extended-closes-friday-26th-september/p1

No deadline for sending those 'PCNs' out and about.

Can be tweeted, no printing unless you want to send a few out.

And the deadline for responses to the questions in the Government Survey has been extended. Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam 15 million times per annum so as many motorists as possible should add their voice and be heard.

    CLOSES ON FRIDAY 26th SEPTEMBER.

  • Hi all
I received today a letter from the county court (notice of allocation to the Small Claims Track (Hearing)).

The date is early Feb 2026.

Among others they say that "...each party must deliver to the other party and to the court office copies of all documents on which that party intends to rely at the hearing no later than..."

I don't have much else than the defence I already sent them.

    That will suffice I hope?

    Any advice on this?

    Many thanks in advance

Study the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum,  second post,  especially the WS plus Exhibits bundle advice

Study other recent cases at a similar stage where the same advice has been asked  ( we get your query several times a week on here,  coupon mad has answered it dozens of times already,  so study her replies   )

You have plenty to add to your bundle,  you just have not researched it up to now

Please edit your thread title to something more suitable and meaningful like

Deleting letter of and adding court

Of course not. You've overlooked an entire stage. Please re-read the red capitals heading IMPORTANT: KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN' in post 2 of the NEWBIES thread.

  • Thank you. I will draft a WS and post.

"...each party must deliver to the other party and to the court office copies of all documents on which that party intends to rely at the hearing no later than 4pm on 17th Nov 2025".

I presume this includes the WS? I'm asking because I've seen in some threads that WS can be sent up to 2 weeks prior to hearing (currently set for early Feb 2026)

BTW DCB Legal sent an "offer" of paying them £60 (with current outstanding balance being £360+). The "offer" was valid for 7 days (from 22 Oct).

My concern is that I don't have pics of the signage etc to include as exhibits.

I also don't know what is the right email address for the court (County Court at Clerkenwell and Shoreditch). I have found the following:

Any advice on the above would be greatly appreciated.
    Many Thanks

Clever judge, requiring WS & exhibits so far in advance! They know DCB Legal will discontinue. What's the deadline for them to pay the hearing fee?
