One of my CC statements came in yesterday, so I sent the minimum (or rather a few pounds above) to that. I have more set aside but will see how the month progresses before sending it off.

I've just realised though that my current total debt stands at £10,700... well when me and ex split last June it was £15,600 - meaning I've nearly paid off £5k since I got my financial stability back!!! (I.e. getting rid of ex!) Factor into that I have also built up a £1k emergency fund, spent over £2k on doing up the house and spent £1,500 on my car deposit - as well as enjoying life! I very often think I'm not doing good enough and have spent too much on enjoying life, but that goes to show I have made good progress - especially when the split was such a shock and I was not in a good place!

Anyway back to today... I'm playing netball tonight but have been asked to play a second game - not sure though as I woke up in the night with cramp/ a knot in my calve! Actually woke bf up as I whelped from the pain!!! I need to pop to the shop before as I realised this morning that I'm very nearly out of deodorant! Annoying as could have picked up whilst I was there yesterday if I'd known! I also really need to decide on bf's birthday present!!! It's his birthday next Wednesday but he is going to visit his dad Tuesday-Saturday and so I need it by Monday in order to give it (whatever "it" is!) to him before he goes! I have bought tickets to see a comedian but the show isn't until next May, which is a long way off so I'd like to give him something he can have straight away - just can't think of a good "token but not rubbish" present!!! Any suggestions?!!?!?!

    Today's little bits and pieces...
    • Make lunch to take to work
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Dad coming over to do some sort of DIY
    • Work on crochet present at lunch
    • Order bf present
    • Print tickets at work
    • Order some bits for my festival/ camp - like badger ears!!!  :D
    • Send any receipts to apps
    • Use cooked chicken breast for dinner (bf playing football straight after work and will probably get home the time I'm leaving for netball, so eating separately)
    • Park for free at netball
    Starting again..

If you use a roll-on deodorant, try storing it upside down, it lasts at least another week that way! Roll-on's are definitely more economical all round, and better for the environment.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Thanks @Rud0lf - I had a look but the comedian doesn't have any merchandise, books etc otherwise that would have been perfect!

What kind of things does he like doing? I often get my husband a present from the kids - we've done things like puzzle books or puzzle post (highly recommend this as an activity you can do together), little adult mecano type sets - he's built a tractor and a van with my son, something related to a hobby eg. A running armband, craft beer if he likes beer etc etc

Thanks for the ideas!!! Particularly love the home date night idea!

I said no to the extra netball game last night (due to my leg) so saved that money - however I was there early and ended up playing half a game as they were short a player!!! It was free and my leg was ok, so that's good!

I've ended up working from home today as bf's birthday present from his dad is arriving today - was meant to be tomorrow but thankfully bosses allowed me to be here! Bf is going to visit his dad next week and wants to take it with him (its an electric guitar) for his dad to sign as it's in all likelihood the last present he will get from his dad, as he's terminally ill and already outlived the prediction.

This weekend I have an acroyoga workshop tomorrow afternoon and then all day Sunday. Believe the plan is for a bunch of us to go out for dinner tomorrow night, so that will include some spending but the workshop is paid for. Will see if the person who's staying wants to come here first and then we can split parking costs.

    Today's list includes:
    • Load of washing on 30 degree quick wash
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Dad here fitting felt on the covered area in the garden - must ask what I owe him
    • Change spare bed as I have someone staying tomorrow night
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Lunch from stores
    • Go shopping with bf
    • Snap receipt
    • Dinner from replenished stores

Oh last CC statement came in so I have paid the minimum amount to that one. I have extra set aside for a potential overpayment but leaving it in the bank for now whilst I see how the month plays out.

Back at work after a very good but tiring and more spendy than anticipated weekend! I had an acro workshop all weekend, which was already paid for, but I then spent on parking for both days, dinner Saturday night and lunch yesterday. Need to update my spreadsheet and ensure all money is in correct accounts as my priority! It was brilliant fun but quite advanced for my level, so I'm completely mentally shattered!

    Today's bits and bobs...
    • Put tortoises in the garden for the day
    • Take leftover lasagna to work for lunch
    • Update spreadsheet with all spends
    • Shuffle money to correct accounts
    • Return something on my lunch break
    • Write out bfs birthday card so I can give it to him to take with him*
    • Charge phone at work
    • Dinner from stores
    • Start writing shopping list for the week - it will only be me from tomorrow until Saturday

    * Bf ended up buying himself a football shirt whilst at the football on Saturday as his birthday present. I hate doing birthday presents this way but it was what he wanted and he's happy! He also hates receiving presents apparently, so is happy with this... me not so much!
