Thanks northwalesd feeling better today. Been to the plot today to get the netting off the orchard. Took 2 long freezing hours, numb toes and fingers by the time I cycled home. Did see several blackbirds and a Robin eyeing up potential grubs. Thawed out eventually once I started cleaning the house ready for birthday bash #2.

Eldest managed to get back home (here for less than 24hrs before they head back). Had a lovely walk in the snow, walking snow ball fight and miss giddychops enjoyed making snow angel dogs.
Big birthday bash for elderly relative went well. Everyone left with happy tummies more importantly. Was miffed with one relative who left it to the last minute to tell me they were unable to print off tickets we bought jointly 5 days ago. So had to add that to my list before everyone arrived
Hoping the snow will be gone soon.
Frugalness
1. Tea and dessert was either provided by the plot or ingredients provided by another.
2. Eldest bought elevenses with them.
3. No money spent

Just had a very odd experience with a very elderly gentleman. I'm collecting a friend's daughter from the train station and decided to call at a shop for some snackletts as I was early. Anyway as I was reversing the car, a elderly gentleman opened my car door to tell me this was his car, it looked like his car, so it was his car. He then looked at me as he was about to get in and said this isn't my car is it? No it's not. He asked me where his was and before I could reply, he apologised and toddled off. 🤣. Hope he found his car.
Anyway other than that met up local environmental group and took our tree down at the local church as the festival has finished. Went for a cuppa afterwards. Quick shopping trip and then back to walk my friends dog.

3. Mum bought over dauphinosie potatoes for tea (sooooo good)
4. Lots of free exercise - walking.
5. Peelings from yesterday have made dog soup, enough for most of the week. Miss giddychops will enjoy it mixed in with her biscuits.

House currently smells like a distillery. Finally started my Christmas cake, about a month late. Fruit is soaking in sherry. Discovered I didn't have currants or glacé cherries, will pop to sm when I pick youngest up. Currently draining off the rum soaked fruit from the rumtoff. DH grandparents used to eat the fruit as part of their breakfast and then go to work😣 (IT'S 60% proof rum😂). Prep for stew for tomorrow night's tea is done, no alcohol in that.
