If you check you will probably find that the sell by date is not for a couple of days.
Reduced items I got were all sell by 24th to 26th ( depending on shop and when they will re-open). Anything later than that was still full price. I mean we will be all starving by Thursday and queuing outside the shops before they open won't we:rolleyes: ?

Most food stores around me are only closed for a couple of days - and a few for only one day - today ! Woops, better get to bed or Father Christmas will give our house a miss.
Merry Christmas all - looking forward to my bargain Turkey in a few hours time !!

Same here:sad: I tried Sainsbury's and Morrisons but nothing was being reduced. In Sainsburys they had loads of stuff stacked up waiting to be marked down but 30 minutes before closing they loaded it all into several large trolleys and it disappearred into the back - never to be seen again. I just hope that the staff or charities got it all and that it wasn't thrown away:mad: . Why remove saleable food from the shelves before closing time:confused:

I went to Sainsbury's today & they had a lot more reduced today than they did on Christmas Eve!

Taste The Difference tomatos half price
    Potatoes half price
Wine & Cheese boxes £5 (half price)
Lots of Jamie Oliver cookware half price

I didn't spot any chocolates or nuts in mine

Christmas eve in our Asda they had reduced all fresh products dated to 26th to half price and most went during the day with a few being reduced again later. Pizza sales were down so all pizzas were reduced for the day to £1.25 and £1.50 to get rid of excess toppings but the best deals were yesterday [Thursday] evening, I bagged beef joints 70p each, stewing beef 50p, pork escalpes 50p, loose veg was down to 10p per kilo. pre packed veg 5p - 25p per bag, deli products all 10p i.e sausage rolls, salmon en croutes, sliced chicken, sliced beef, gammon ham [£4] £1.50
I then went to Tesco and found more loose veg, bagged up at 10p per bag, 1kg sprouts 20p,large pots of cream 20p, sherry raspberry trifles 35p , half price pork joints and quality street £2.37 per tin :T

Both stores were dead and the till operaters reading magazines

havn't been today or night but there was a lot of shelf items with todays date [28th] to come off today for reducing , I also noticed a lot of items dated for the 30th when I might venture out again :p

I really do get addicted to this "goodie" shopping especially this time of year as my OH is a subbie and has to have nearly three weeks enforced holidays with no pay so these bargains help the short pay packets for Dec and Jan :T
