Thanks, but not sure it's quite that clear. See attached.
On the contrary, it's very clear.  Didn't you read the last sentence of the FAQs which you've quoted, and which you say convinced you to switch?:

"You must complete your switch using the Current Account Switch Service to switch a bank account held elsewhere."

I see. From my perspective, this means that the first part of the sentence is completely not true. I match that criteria as an existing Lloyds customer, and then to be told in the next sentence that I'm not qualified for the offer is ridiculous.
Why do you think Lloyds typed the second sentence if they didn't intend for it to have an effect?

All the T&Cs are relevant, even those that you don't think apply to you.

    Hey all,

Just wanted to check I hadn't missed something here...

I was a Lloyds basic current account holder, and saw about the £175 switch deal when you signe up for a Club Silver account.

I followed the steps, created the new account, and after 14 days... nothing? I just now have 2 accounts, with everything still coming in and out of account 1.

Have I missed a step or do I just need to wait? I've called Lloyds a couple of times and haven't been able to get through - they've been a bit of a nightmare.

    Any guidance would be fab.

    Cheers!
Given this is a switch offer, actually switching an account might help...

You've got your new account open which is an eligible account to switch into. Now complete a switch and you'll get your bonus.

Did you not notice the ticks adjacent to the two sentences meaning you have to comply with both of the terms

As others have mentioned, you need to meet all the T&Cs of the switch offer. Always get your information directly from the T&Cs - don't rely on FAQs, MSE news articles, or even posts from people on internet forums :open_mouth:

The full terms are on the Lloyds website here (https://www.lloydsbank.com/current-accounts/switch.html ), or I linked them on the forums here (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6473641/lloyds-175-switching-offer-19-9-23-to-14-11-23/p1 ).

In a nutshell it seems you have misunderstood what the offer requires. You need to complete a full CASS switch, which moves an account from another bank to your newly opened Club Lloyds account. Simply opening a new account will not by itself meet the terms of the offer.
  • In simple terms what Lloyds are saying is even as an existing customer you are eligible to receive the switching bonus providing you switch from a NON-LLOYDS account, i.e. you hold an account with HSBC and switch that in to Lloyds even though you already hold a Lloyds basic bank account.

The T's & C's and FAQ's seem pretty clear to me.
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
    Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing
