I am getting totally and utterly lost in the mire of TLAs and FLAs being slapped around when discussing this new fibre connection. Examples are FTTP FTTC. For what it's worth I've had a SIP account for VoIP for more than a decade. Initially I only used softphones but for 9 years I've had a hardware VoIP phone plugged into one of the network ports on my router.
I gave it my SIP account settings and it just works.
When they turn off analogue landlines I'm considering giving up my ISPs phone service and just using the SIP phone.
