It looks like you were lucky. They were able to request a default CCJ against you from the 26th of September as you had no defence filed by that deadline. However, your defence, which you submitted today, although weak, has prevented that. Your advantage now is to understand how you can expand on the defence when it comes to filing a WS at a later date and that is where you can get assistance from the forum.
You now need to spend some time reading the Newbies/FAQ thread and also have a read of and make a note of the 12-point checklist in the first post of the Template defence thread.2 -
Thank you. I didn’t realise it was all in the post NEWBIES. I have since found it all and will read through. Apologies for acting in fear1

That letter is menacing and if I received such junk, I would be reporting BWLegal TO THE SRA and be asking my MP to ask the MoJ why a so called legal can pretend to be a count court judge...
I have said before, this scam parking industry which includes these very dodgy legals are the current KRAY TWINS
I would show the letter to the judge, if it gets that far because the fools are making a wild assumption how a judge would rule
And, you do not owe £279.28 ...... BWLegal has added their usual fake which the courts consider as a feeble attempt of DOUBLE RECOVERY
Do not panic any more, not on this forum, there is nothing special about BWLegal
BWLegal saying you will get a CCJ .... what utter rubbish1 -
The mitigation is a bit of side issue IMHO. Have they offered mediation. ? Turn up and fight it. it would be interesting to see if they turn up. Do not fear county courts. They are not like the surroundings you see in TV dramas . BTW the general ethos of county courts is that both sides cover their own costs. Liability for costs is limited. Solicitors are not cheap for either side . Certainly not cheap for the plaintiff.0

As you will know, mediation is a farce, some retired old solicitor doing a part time job between watching "Good Morning Britain and Loose Women with no clue of the great parking scam....... In this case the only legal involved is BWLegal and they bear their own costs however high they will be.
The OP does not need any legal, not on this forum and we see many costs awarded to defendants, some in 4 figures0 -
I’ve received this off BW legal in the post today. Are they serious, giving me until today to respond!

Yeah, hilarious!
All normal of course, which you will already know from your reading of any other BW Legal threads, and from the Template Defence thread first post which mentions this letter the 12-point 'first steps'.
Also, do re-read the Newbies/FAQ thread at every stage if you were not expecting this stuff. It's all there. We don't need to see the usual letters & forms prior to WS stage.
