No reply from Octopus on Great British Insulation Scheme
I applied to Octopus for the Great British Insulation Scheme exactly three weeks ago, but haven't received an update yet. I emailed them and they said they're not sure when I'll get a reply, which is discouraging.
Has anyone else waited this long for an update? I understand they have a backlog, but three weeks seems excessive.

Five weeks?!! I wouldn't mind so much if anyone at Octopus could give an update on the status of my application, but customer services tell me there's nothing they can do as "it's a different department."0

I'm waiting a month now. Anyone else getting any updates beyond the 5 week mark?0

Not so long ago insulation was subsidized at source so you could go to Wickes or BandQ and get rolls of the stuff for next to nothing, must have saved the govn huge amounts in the layers of agencies and council departments that would otherwise have their snouts in the trough.0

I applied on 21st Sep and received an update three weeks later (12th Oct), saying they "believe you may qualify," and not much else. That was a fortnight ago, so five weeks on and I'm still no further forward.tomdev said:I'm waiting a month now. Anyone else getting any updates beyond the 5 week mark?
Pointless contacting Octopus for an update. They don't want to help and refuse to find out what's going on. I presume it's a third-party dealing with the applications and they're having a nightmare dealing with them.0 -
Do you get an automatic reply saying they received it?I would suspect the que could be 6 months long now even if they hire more staff.0

Yeah, I've had the automatic replies about my application, so I'm confident it's in hand... somewhere. I think I'll give up any hope of having this done before winter properly kicks in.markin said:Do you get an automatic reply saying they received it?I would suspect the que could be 6 months long now even if they hire more staff.0 -
I've been chasing this with Octopus and got this response today.
Thanks for getting in touch.
You will be contacted if your application was successful.
If there is anything else please get in touch.
All the best,

And still I wait. Just over seven weeks now. Anyone had any success yet?0

I am in a similar position. 2 months now and a load of baffling replies from their customer service team, who don't seem to have looked at my application date or have read any previous emails. On Friday I'll be taking it to Ofgem. I have sent Octopus a letter of complaint. I'd be happy to share the template with anyone who wants it.1
