I didn't say complain to Ofcom.
I said phone one of their advisors. If its not an emergency then they'll record it as a monitoring event and give you a reference.
But if it's an emergency, which I think being without your number for so long is, then they'll contact your provider and give them a time period to sort things for you.
You do need to complain to Lyca as well though.1 -
OK. I will try this on Monday1

Finally after 18 days my Mobile service is back
. I am glad that people can contact me on the number which I am keeping for nearly 20 years.
Lyca offered me a compensation to extend their current package to 15 days !! I believe that is not good enough compensation to the hardship I faced. I thought to take help from CISAS (Communication & Internet Services Adjudication Scheme) to get better compensation.
Any inputs on this please..? or just take peanuts they offered ?? Thanks.2 -
I think they owe you more than that. I would say a months service.1

I mailed them saying compensation offered is not enough. Another Issue I have Lyca's few weeks/month free talk time may not be helping me as I found Lyca service after porting appalling..Rarely get incoming calls even though I can see call gets connected to my Plusnet PAYG both uses same network provider. I am in a semi rural area and these type of issues not helpful. Thanks.0

I am unable to receive any calls at my Lyca Mobile @ Home as all calls going to Voice Mail. Though Lyca uses EE network looks like something is restricting Lyca to fully utilise EE coverage as I have another Plusnet PAYG (which also uses EE network) which doesn't have any problem to accept calls. I kept both phones side by side and tried call. Unfortunately Lyca calls ends up in VM and Plusnet calls rang. Not sure what is going on as both uses name EE mobile network! Unless Lyca being MVNO got some restrictions within EE network..?? Any Mobile network experts here..? Any inputs please.
I am more or less decided to quit Lyca, just waiting to see if their port out mechanism is working!1 -
It is common for mvno providers to be a little limited in the range of bands they have access to, and this can cause a loss of signal, especially in rural areas.
That said. Lyca trumpeted their move to ee as a major upgrade and plusnet were very much no-frills so it would be surprising, but then it is lyca.0 -
Just putting this out here:
www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0025/256336/guidance-compensation-switching-and-porting.pdf
According to this you should expect at least £8 for every calendar day that's passed without the number being ported.1
