Victoria Plum situation

  • Sorry to hear so many others have been let down by VP. I ordered a new bathroom via their install service just before the administration was publicised. Was left in the dark for a couple of weeks waiting for the surveyor to book an appointment before spotting what was happening online. Emailed the VP sales rep who gave a “wait and see” type response. Then received a phone call this week from them to say things have changed and would I be interested in placing effectively a new order with them, but with a worse finance option and by paying a new deposit. They even said I should chase the refund of an old deposit via the administrators which I could put towards the new order! Needless to say I politely declined placing a new order, and am now left trying to reclaim the deposit via the credit card company (very glad I used that method of payment). Also have the worry of the original Novuna finance credit line being in placed awaiting closure, as I don’t trust VP one bit!
Absolutely awful- feel so disappointed and sorry for those who lost out more.
  • I can't believe that people are still able to buy via their website. I had no idea they were in admin or had been sold. Yesterday i purchased some bathroom fittings through their website. All through the process there was no inkling that there was an issue- took my order and gave a delivery date. Just checked the website again and no mention of anything there, still advertising Autumn sale. Bought via credit card so hoping to claim back although have never been through that process before.

You should get your order delivered as normal. The new owners are saying they're not liable for orders placed before Sept 29th.
Not a very good way to operate, and I hope it has bad consequences for them. I've used them for years as a trade customer, but will never use them again.

No, there was a court case between the two companies.

  • Just to update, that I have successfully reclaimed my bathroom deposit via my credit card provider. I included a link to the administrators website so was pretty cut and dry, with no questions asked. Might give those that paid by cc a little hope!
  • I feel really bad about this as we paid over £2000 deposit at the end of June 2023 for a complete bathroom refurbishment due to commence in October 2023. Whilst I fully appreciate that we have lost all the money, I am extremely displeased that the Victoria Plum representative who took my payment told me that I could not pay by credit card and only debit cards and bank transfers were acceptable. When I requested a VAT receipt, after several phone calls, unbelievably, I received a single line print out from a computer program with no VAT details on it (see photo). I must admit that these two things alone should have rang alarm bells but I kept receiving emails indicating that they had been unsuccessfully trying to contact me by phone but when I checked I had no missed calls from any of the Victoria Plum numbers. I agree that, given the circumstances, this seems to me to be legalised theft. I would like to know if there is any connection, at all, with the directors of the original company and the one that is now operating under exactly the same name because, given all the circumstances described above, I find it very hard to believe that, at the very least, one of the employees that I spoke to knew that the jiob would never commence.
  • We bought a Led Mirror October which came with a 5 year guarantee last year which has now developed a fault. Where do we go from here ?
Victoria Plum Customer Chat keeps sending us to the administration website which has no help regarding this kins of issue.

Contact the manufacturer - Their address should be in the installation/instruction sheet.

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
  • Unlikely you will get any joy from Vic.plum, they've cheated thousands of customers, some loosing all their money from full bathroom orders. These mirrors, like most electronics are fitted with chinese components that just don't last long.
