Wearable Luggage

Hi All,

I'm looking to book some flights for a 2.5 week trip. Usually I would take a small bag but now even small bags you have to pay.

I'm looking at Stuffa which seems the best option. Does anyone know any decent and ideally cheaper alternatives?

I had to Goggle what a Stuffa was.

Surely paying for a large cabin bag or check bag, and having a reasonable comfortable journey has to be easier, better and probably cheaper than buying a £110 jacket with pockets?
  • Keep in mind people have to sit next to you.
  • Very few airlines won’t let you take a “small” bag on for free - often defined as something small enough to stuff under the seat rather than overhead.
Has the world changed that much?

Choose an airline that doesn’t make you pay for small bags?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Some travellers swallow items so they are undetected - would save you buying lunch as well! Or you could go joey-style and wear everything at once!

A bit more seriously, what about work trousers with loads of pockets and same for a jacket

For free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Beware fee charging companies with similar names.
  • I would rather suck it up and pay the extra fee than have to go through all the rigmarole of taking things out of every single pocket through security and sitting on a plane whilst wearing something that heavy, bulky, and hot.

I'd be surprised if there are that many airlines that don't let you take a small backpack on for free.
    Make £2025 in 2025 total £119.64/£2025

Might help if they clarified what's meant by "a small bag" and which airline?

Even if there was a cost for "a small bag" I doubt it'd be 110 quid.
  • OK, guys, I noticed only one person bothered to provide a reasonably helpful direct answer to the question!

Yes, I've considered paying for the bag. I'm flying 4 budget flights just on this trip which is about £100 in baggage fees. so one more flights and it pays for itself.

All budget airlines have reduced their baggage sizes (with exception of Jet2). Not sure what people take but a few T-shirts, SLR I'm out of space.

I've thought of all of the other items as well. So please post if you know any alternative companies or vests that you may have seen/used. ideally cheaper and nothing that looks like I'm about to hijack the plane. I do appreciate the free accommodation provided by a jail cell is a money saver but even I have my limits.

Caught a short film on tv or YouTube a while back of a girl who’d decided to save money by stuffing her clothes in her coat and wearing it. Fell at the first hurdle, rumbled by baggage staff who it seems see this pretty regularly. Can’t recall if she missed her flight whilst getting herself luggage or if she simply left it all behind. Then the guy who decided to wear his luggage, resembled Michelin man, sweating so badly that the baggage staff thought he was ill and pulled him over.
