Thank you. I have a few games and spare controller as well to sell it with so would imagine I could get a good amount for it. I also need to pull my finger out and put stuff on vinted.

I decided to withdraw some funds from my emergency fund and leave it at 1k until my debts are paid. That's now been moved to my savings fund and I paid some money off the credit card. It's now down to 2100.

I've got 18 months to clear it. I have scheduled £50 per month payments for now. Which leaves me £1200 to find in 18 months if I want it cleared before the end of the 0% period. I usually get a backpay in Dec/Jan once payrise is agreed, current one on offer works out about £50 a month so that will help.

If you are going to sell your Switch then I would urge you either to do it now or wait a good while as the Switch 2 is coming out at the start of June. We got caught out with this when the PS4 came out but have just sold the PS3 and many games as apparently nostalgia gaming is a thing, and the boys have done rather well out of it (not counting the original cost of it all obviously)

£1200 divided by 18 would be an extra £66.60 per month to find.

    Thanks.

There's been a slight change in plans. My dad offered me £1k, I thought it was a gift but turns out was a loan. I debated giving it back but instead decided I would pay it all off my card. It's increased the amount I owe him but the terms stay the same. £100 per month repayment.

That leaves me with £1100 and 18 months to clear it. I just need to decide on what my next move will be. Do I put all my focus on clearing the card or do I overpay on my mortgage? Part of me wants the card gone so I have more spare disposable income to pay towards my mortgage. But other part of me wants to start making payments towards mortgage now. Decisions, decisions.

Sorry doing a bit more of a brain dump on here so apologies to anyone who is following along.

I've spent so much money recently, more than I should have and I really need to reign it back in. I increased my personal and grocery spending this month as everything just seems to cost more. But I feel like this has opened a can of worms.

So going forward I am going to be declaring on here what I am spending each day and if I have managed to make any money that day.

Just caught up on your diary! I do find when you've been sick etc you do spend a lot (medicine is ridiculously expensive especially night nurse) and little comforts are a must to get through it!

Personally I'd try and get rid of the debt then do the mortgage overpayments. You got a great rate on your mortgage! Mine is due for renewal next year, if we got around 3% I think I'd go 5 years this time too.

Could you cut the luxuries (like nails and massage etc) and pay down the debt faster? I found giving myself a really tight allowance for everything including birthdays, coffees, lunch etc worked for me. It allowed me to pay down the debt faster and any additional income came straight off the debt, although I know this approach isn't for everyone!
