Well we are all "guinea pigs" from time to time. There's an ongoing issue with the DCC affecting some of these "third party user" Apps eg. Bright as one, and has been affecting data retrieval with some Aclara meters from time to time. Currently, I'm aware of one with no data retrieved since Friday 1330.
(see also https://forum.ovoenergy.com/smart-meters-136/third-party-access-to-smart-meter-data-recent-failures-18114 sent to me by Hildebrand).
The same meter doesn't seem to be affected by data retrieval by n3rgy at this time!

Edit: Even stranger, using @Ildhund 's homebrew link, the meter has an expired security certificate! but this isn't affecting n3rgy's own data retrieval at present!!

I think IIRC they like to give 10mdays notice.
You'll get another email telling you the date soon.
  • Postscript to this tale which I started in September 2023 which might be of some interest to those affected by RTS shutdown like myself.

New smart meter up and running. Power being switched on and off at right times for night storage heaters and immersion.

Have now learned how to navigate the menus within the new meter and able to take readings manually with confidence.

Still no connectivity with EDF so readings will have to be submitted using app or online when requested.

It could have been worse but I can live with the situation despite all the palava.

I'm glad that everything got sorted out in the end!

I'm so sorry @Rosie1001, but I keep getting an error message when attaching the image. I have tried reducing the DPI but to no avail.

    Second attempt

That's a good general view of a five-terminal EDMI smart meter, although I can't quite make out the model number.
    Is it an ES-12B?

  • @QrizB yes that is correct.

There appear to be two components comprising the installation. The top one is made in Romania and the bottom one is made in China.

The top bit (with the ZigBee logo and green LEDs) is the comms hub. In principle, any SMETS2 comms hub will work with any SMETS2 meter. Both of yours are branded EDMI but, for example, my Aclara meter has a WNC comms hub.
