Voda' to Voda' upgrade ?
I had a Vodafone contract through Mobiles.UK, price shot up at end of contract so I looked to renew. Going back thru' Mobiles.Uk proved a better deal than Voda'.
Mobiles sent a new SiM so I asked Voda for a PaC code, they say not possible as I cannot upgrade Voda to Voda via third party ?
Mobiles say I just keep original SiM.
Anyone done similar ? Do I need PAC or not ?

frustrating but true (or was true a few years ago when I last tried).I think you’ll need to
a) ask Vodafone for a pac code / give 30d notice
b) get a cheap “doner” sim - probably payg
c) port to doner…
D) then port number to your new mobile…
sorry1 -
Is your original sim still active? Vodafone will issue a pac if it is but you can't give it back to Vodafone.
If both sims are active in the same online account you could try asking Vodafone to sim swap the plans over, then cancel your original plan. However if the sim is no longer active you may have a problem retrieving the number.1 -
Assume you mean mobiles.co.uk.
Have you been sold an upgrade rather than a new contract? You need to check carefully since there will be no need for PAC codes, your service will simply continue under the new contract's terms. Very unlikely that mobiles.co.uk would have sold you a new Vodafone contract when you have Vodafone already.
The new SIM can be ignored if it is the case.2 -
Original sim is still active, I did contact Voda to ask about the PAC but they just tried to convince me to cancel and sign up for new contract direct with them.
When I log into my account it does appear to be an upgrade as all my log in details are the same ?
I am going to try Mobiles again and hopefully you are right and new sim is not needed.0 -
Should be obvious to tell if you look online at your account if the upgrade has been applied - new agreement end date.1

Yes as I mentioned it does show in my Voda' account the new terms.
I managed to contact Mobiles UK who also said it was not possible to transfer PAC Voda to Voda.
But they then said the number associated with my new account is the one I want to keep !
So albeit somewhat bemused it appears I have what I require despite them both saying it not possible.
As has been suggested I will request a PAC code just in case and do the Voda-PAYG-Voda switch if necessary.

Does the new sim have a new number assigned to it? If it does then it doesn’t sound like you were sold an upgrade but a new contract instead.1

I did exactly the same process with mobiles.co.uk in April.
Have you received an email from edocuments@mobiles.co.uk? is there a document attached called invoice.pdf?
Open it up, does it contain the line "Vodafone Gsm To Gsm Upgrade" (and a lot of other information, including details of the new SIM which should say that it has the same number that you have now).
You can also look at your order online at mobiles.co.uk where the word "Upgrade" should be the third line of the order details.
You've checked your Vodafone account and the end date of your service is 12 months from now.
If all this is true then you've upgraded, you need do nothing else.2 -

ThanksIt sound like everything is okay. You’ve just been confused by the new SIM and perhaps you’ve slightly misunderstood what’s happened and haven’t fully taken in what the documents say2
