Amazon Delivery Gone Astray via Home Delivery Network - need help urgently

Have been waiting in today for a delivery from Amazon (postman pat large set) which according to their tracking was despatched to Home Delivery Network on the 19th. Have just checked HD networks site as parcel never showed up and according to their records, it showed up at my local depot (Norwich) but they were unable to delivery due to wrong depot code - whatever that means! Both Amazon and HD network phones lines are shut tomorrow. Really need to contact someone urgently to find out where parcel is as is Xmas pressie for my son. Can anyone advise if they have any phone nos etc, please!!!!

Wrong depot code usually means it has been sent to the wrong delivery depot so needs to be moved to the correct one so that delivery can take place.

Is the Norwich depot the one that usually delivers to your postcode? Is their tracking of the actual item into the depot or just the wrong depot code?

Best thing you can do is go to your HDN depot. They're usually quite good in sorting things out if you turn up.

Had a quick Google for you and the number of your local depot is 01603 486101

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Hi,

I have a number off a website for you 0870 1545400. I believe this is a main number for tracking deliveries with Home Delivery Network. The site does advise that you contact the local depot as who wants to pay 0870 high rates for calls but at least its another number if you are not getting anywhere !

It also posts the customer service number for amazon as 0800 2796620.

Hope you get it all sorted.
  • Many thanks for your advice, have checked amazon's tracking and it says it was scanned in Norwich on 20th and then went to prime sort uk later that day and then yesterday it was scanned again at midday at norwich? No idea what is going on, really wanted to speak to someone tomorrow to clarify problem, but looks like I am going to have to wait till monday. I will keep my fingers crossed in the meantime!! Thanks Again!

HDNL Depot staff were working today, and they were doing deliveries, even though they are not answering the phones. I've spoken to my local depot today (amazon india got them to call me) and I also saw my local delivery driver to talk too.

Go to Amazon Help and use the option to get them to ring you. Tell them you want them to check with HDNL. I don't know if Amazon India call center is open still, but they were 3 hours ago.

From your tracking info though I'd say there is hope you will get it on Monday, looks like it just took a wrong turn. My local delivery driver told me they cleared all the cages at their depot (not same as yours) today to ensure their life was as easy as possible on Monday. They don't deliver on Sundays.
  • many thanks, I am a little bit more hopeful now. I did not realise they did not deliver Sundays, at least I want be disappointed tomorrow! I will contact amazon then and hope they have a way of getting in contact with them tomorrow. Thanks again for your help, will let you know how I get on!

If you get no joy from Amazon by tomorrow PM me, as I have an unpublished phone number of HDNL that might be manned tomorrow, if the main one listed above is not. Also there are a lot more numbers for them if you search for HDNL on saynoto0870.com
  • Hiw do you track your parcels??? I can only see that the estimated delivery date was today, is there anyway I can 'trace' where it is?
    Thanks x

If you don't have a track button and a parcel number then generally you can't. Who does it say the carrier is, was it supersaver delivery, and a smallish parcel, if so you could be at the whim of TNT.... (cue horror music).
