soft search by BW legal

Options
I have had letters from BW legal concerning a parking ticket. I have not made any contact with them or the parking company whatsoever. I am waiting for a letter of claim and then I will post on here for help please.

My first question is BW Legal have done a soft search on my report. I'm amazed that this is legal as they do not even know who was driving. Seems an invasion of privacy.

Thanks

Bit more information would be handy.  Have you received a PCN?
  • Driver parked in a block of flats car park. Did t see any sign etc until ticket arrived. Had several reminders and now with a not very pleasant debt collector.(BWLEGAL)
Driver would only have been a couple of mins but the item they were picking up was delayed. Have been in contact with owner of flat and rental agency but no joy. Driver does have an email stating that they were visiting tenant.
I thought this might come under ‘forbiddden’ as trespass as there is no way to pay or get a permit etc.
    TIA

A soft search is a good thing and leaves no footprint. It is VITAL to check the Defendant's last known address, to avoid improperly served court claims.

The DLUHC has made it mandatory in the new statutory CoP.  I may or may not have been the one to raise it with them to include it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The driver was picking something up from a resident of a local Marketplace advert. The seller was longer than expected as there was an issue. The driver was there 34 mins.
  • OK i'll fill that in. I'll just wait for a letter before claim yes?

    Thanks
  • There's nothing to fill in.

    It is an email please.
Aah I see now. Will do. Thanks
  • Unfortunately I have received a 'letter before claim' from BWLegal.

I've had a read of the newbies thread. Shall I complete a SAR to GSX services? Is this my first move?

    Thank you
