And just about anyone can start up a meaningless association!

One can be trained in powerflushing. I attened the Sentinel course when I first purchased one of their machines. Training was not just on flushing, but water and its treatment as a whole. Once completed one gets a certificate proving you have trained and met their standards.

Othe power flush manufacturers do the same.

As for a 'Power Flush Association', sounds a load of tosh to me!

In principal so do I but I don't actually know what they are really trying to do.

Leeds is in Yorkshire - do you have a connection apart from membership?

    Cheers

Obviously there is a need for:

    1. Kaercher pressure wash operators association

    2. Carpet shampoo machine operators association

We should also set up a government department for regulating all pressurised equipment.

All those energy inspectors who are out of a job now has a new purpose in life.

There, I have just solved the unemployment situation. A knighthood please.

    Federation of master builders
    etc etc

The point is we as gas engineers live with associations.

I cannot see no harm in it ,maybe i am wrong but i guess i have a right to my opinion.

For a trade association to have any value it must have approved procedures and be able to verify that the firm is competent to carry out those procedures; and that means the ability to carry out assessments and inspections.

What about complaints procedures, how would the ‘Power Flush Association’ adjudicate and what sanctions would they impose on errant firms?

How would membership of ‘Power Flush Association’ in any way ensure a firm were not ‘cowboys’.

    Just another meaningless association!

    P.S.
The 'harm' is that some gullible customers might believe that association membership meant something!
