Great news about the compensation though!
I've had one success and one failure this week with warranties/repairs/insuance... I threatened one with a complaint to the ombudsman and read their publicly available service standard back to them and lo and behold less than 24 hours a technician has been out to fix the boiler under warranty.
The fridge light however is another story for another day! lets just say ticket was opened mid-august and it is now almost mid-november.

Well done with the boiler RT - how annoying that the fridge thing is dragging on though - it’s irritating when companies don’t seem to understand that attention to detail on the small aspects can make a real difference to the likelihood of customers returning! Beanie I do indeed recall your issues with insurance repairers - mine is unquestionably “small fry” in comparison and did literally just come down to a single person not taking the time to check her facts before responding. LaPlan (now also imagining you singing Piaf!) did you get your complaint written? Fingers crossed for a good response! **waves at L and jwil**I’ve not made it to the shed yet so shopping from home - if indeed it is possible - will happen shortly - I need to go there for logs and to take the pile of bits of wood we gathered this morning on the way back from our walk anyway. The washing is also NOT going outside today as the weather is what you might call uncertain - we’ve already had one short sharp shower and the sky suggests more is heading this way. Hopefully the damp stuff from yesterday is now dry and the load from the machine can go up on the airer later.I’m going to experiment a little with the heating today I think - it was on as usual this morning, switching off at around 8am, but the temperature has now fallen back to 17° so I will leave it off until I get back from doing the shopping and will then use the override to force it back on - then we’ll see how it plays out ticking over for the rest of the day. The house is fairly well insulated we think so it will be interesting to compare the energy use on using it that way with it heating right up fully from cold again later. So that’s my morning - shed, shopping, washing, and will give Jaws an outing round the house in a bit too. May even live dangerously and get the steamer out to the front door curtains which are showing little sign of the creases dropping out!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

😂😂 It’s fine, I didn’t - the steamer has not yet left the under stairs cupboard.Did get the rest of the stuff done though, and scored a complete MSE win in Lil’s too. I’d been chatting with the couple in front of me as they were loading their shopping at the till and I was waiting to load mine, so when I realised that they had just said they had no Plus card, I didn’t feel too awkward jokingly saying “oh, I should have been quicker there and seen if I could scan my card there shouldn’t I!” They immediately said yes, absolutely, I definitely should, and the checkout girl said it wasn’t too late, sooo…I scanned my Plus card for their ONE HUNDRED FLIPPING POUND shop! I cannot imagine spending that much in there! 🤣🤣 On getting home I discovered that filled two of the competition entry stamp cards, and put three stamps on the next, and combined with my own total that now means I have a free bakery item, free dairy/dessert item and a free W5 item to come too - talk about a win! 😂 needless to say I shall be on a mission to extract maximum value from those.I think my next mission is to Swish the bathroom, might take the glass cleaner and a cloth round the mirrors and the shower screen too. I dusted round upstairs earlier on, so that is done, but I’m going to tackle those creased curtains to make at least a bit of an improvement there. And THEN, lovely MSEers, I shall settle in on the sofa with some TV and some more sewing together on my blanket, I think.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

That’s brilliant with the Lid! wins. I’m always amazed at the amount of people who shop there but don’t have the app 🤷♀️I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Cor, as @Cheery_Daff says, you are on it like a car bonnet (though she said it far more classily and less cockney 😁). You must make sure to do any annoying forms and enter any raffles you encounter this weekend!6
