Wow, you have been busy EH! It all sounds like a lot of fun though. And largely on budget/budgeted for etc. I think it's reasonable to adjust the holiday budget - as you say, everything has become so much more expensive recently. I know I need to look at this too.

Nice to see you back & hear about your travels. I've been having similar thoughts re monthly amount paid into our Holidays Pot. We don't go away as often as you but we've defo still noticed the big rise in costs, esp cottage rentals. I think some of these have become a bit greedy tbh but it's the sort of hol we like so once we've worked our way through our current holiday payment schedule, I am intending to increase the monthly amounts.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

Lovely to catch up on your news. Travel is certainly going up in cost dramatically.

nice to hear from you. We were eating in a pub on the Isle of Wight last weekend too 😁

I agree that holiday costs have increased hugely when accommodation and eating out are factored in. We did a mix of eating out and eating at home on our recent trip and enjoyed some fabulous meals out but I'd estimate that they are 5-10% more expensive than earlier this year and that's not including buying wine or beer with our meals. We bought some nice beer from the IoW brewery which I assume you visited and a bottle of wine from MrL's and enjoyed a tipple back at our accommodation.

Agree completely with the costs going up - a week in the UK used to be exponentially higher than abroad but now is much of a muchness - currently on leave this week and decided home was the best plwce to be.

Welcome back, glad all is well, I guessed you might've been busy. It's a shame about the 6 months savers disappearing, I opted for a 12 months one but the interest rate isn't as good. YBS do a good Christmas saver, I always have that one on the go as well as the Welsh one.

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪
