Curtains sound fancy - especially if they look ready to just take off and dance.

EH - very interesting observations about the declining quality of the Swedish products - the last time we had a trip round to the store, I felt the same way about the shoe racks and ended up purchasing one from arg0s instead! I think it may have been from the hab1tat range. Our last two bookcases were from there as well simply because of the need for narrow shelves and shortened height - not the best quality but fit both the space and the budget at the time.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! House progress all sounds good. I sometimes get overwhelmed by the choice online as well, sometimes just looking in person helps a lot."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney3

RT that's interesting about you too noticing a drop in the "feel of quality" of the Swedish stuff. I guess not too many folk buying from them now are comparing in the same way that we are with the same items but bought 20+ years ago, so it's probably small economies they can get away without worrying too much about.
L - we looked at the Sky Glass idea but I can see them having people over a barrel on pricing going forwards because of the actual TV being involved. We looked at Sky Stream too and that was a possibility, but for now and due to the fact that they've held the main contract price and gave us the Sky Q update for free we stuck with the more traditional method. I can certainly see we might well switch to stream once the cut price deal on multiroom is finished though!
PiP - I almost feel embarrassed saying this as I appreciate that it's very "not MSE" but we do feel quite strongly that for the new house we want to buy new, not make do with second hand. Thanks to my Great Aunt & Uncle we're in the incredibly fortunate position of not needing to "make do" - and one way and another we have "made do" for a lot of years with all sorts of things. We're using every stick of furniture from the flat of course, not just replacing things that are fine, but with the new place being so much bigger we already knew we were going to need to buy additional bits, and we have taken the decision that where we are buying we want to buy stuff that will now last us for as long as we need. There is also the perspective that as we are not in a position of needing to make savings, it feels slightly awkward to be buying bargain pre-loved stuff that in fact others may have more need of - a bit like the person in flash designer clothes who snaffles all the yellow stickered stuff in T's out from under the noses of the people who actually need to buy them!
Thanks milann, jwil, SH & Beanie on puddled curtains and real-life shopping rather than virtual - love that so often folk are on the same page here!
Halfway through my working week again - doesn't time fly? It's been a busy one this week for various reasons too - and I thought for a while I might be asked to work on Friday but that doesn't look like it's going to happen now - which I confess is quite a relief. I've got various things to do and while I could have rearranged some, it wouldn't have been ideal! For various reasons which can't be helped the work environment is quite
Very unimpressed with Dunelm or more specifically DHL as their delivery agents. Placed an order on Sunday, and have been getting mixed messages about delivery dates and whether the order is coming in one, or two parts ever since. This morning DHL confirm delivery today, so I shot onto the tracking link as it offered a rearrange delivery option. Confirmation that it was being changed to tomorrow - phew. Except just had an email from DHL blithely claiming that the item has been delivered, apparently signed for my me - albeit it seems I have lost the ability to spell my own name. Photo attached shows the parcel dumped outside, effectively on the street, behind our bins... I've just complained to Dunelm, and eventually got confirmation that yes, they will speak to DHL about it, but it has to be said they really didn't sound that bothered. I'd be very disinclined to order from them again based on this.
MSE Stuff:
- £500 sent to the mortgage this morning and already showing off the balance - hurrah!
- Still awaiting one transaction to lane on the CC but once it has I can do some balancing off.
- I've been paid - yep, early! All good - the money will sit where it is until the weekend then I can do the usual shuffles.
- MrEH is considering an extra day in the office tomorrow as there are department drinks in the evening. This might mean an Oyster feed - if it does then the spare cash is sitting in the joint account for it, although I was hoping to use that "saved" amount against the CC stuff. Not the end of the world though.
- Food all under control - I've rejigged things a little to make life easier, although a further re-jig may be needed if MrEH is out tomorrow. I've got a spicy ragu out for tonight - I'll do rice with that and it will all be cooked in the microwave which should be cheaper than the hob. Then I may still do my planned butternut squash & chickpea curry for tomorrow - that will mean I'd then freeze two portions and eat one. Alternatively I've got a couple of single portions of various things in the freezer as options for myself.
- I was going to put a load of washing through this evening to go on the line tomorrow - as long as tomorrow still looks dry all day I might still do that.
Nothing much else going on. with luck the parcel will be there still this evening and if so we'll be able to get the remaining curtains hung. I did some pottering about sorting out odds and ends last night - a few bits and pieces shifted to storage locations which will suit them better, some books moved upstairs and space made in the small bookcase in the front rom for candles, tea lights etc. This live in a pretty basket so it will be nice to have that visible!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Similar feedback on D and couriers. Faulty rug was supposed to be collected months ago, chased twice, still in my dining room. I object to filling my bin with it! Bedding turned up in open bag with no delivery note and no dispatch email. They did refund missing items without hassle though. Different couriers in each case.My parents said they had ordered curtains and curtain rails that got delivered somewhere else, much arguing for resolution. Don't they realise that people talk?My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
