The book sounds like a great find and a great bargain.6

What a lovely result on the bookMy mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
GNU Mr Redo4 -
Thanks all for sharing my joy on the book!
Cheery the folding bowl isn't a bad shout actually - as I might well be able to find under-the-sink space for one of those. Food for thought there!
I changed plans on tea as the omelettes will wait until later in the week - so it was stir fry instead.
The living room is now quite distinctly tidier than it was.
My memory card is cleared down, my backups are up to date, and I even took the time to update the firmware on my camera last night too! Batteries are all also charged, and I sorted the ordinary AA batteries that my air-wave scanner uses as well. Woop - go me!
Journal is in my bag so I can check on my diary stuff at lunch.
MSE Stuff:
- the washing that was done overnight dried on the line yesterday through the day - MrEH retrieved it when we got home.
- last night's stir fry used some of the home grown pak choi and also some radish leaves.
- Popped into T's last night as wanted to see if they had the lovely comfy knickers in stock - they had, so I bought a couple of pairs, and left without buying anything else. £6 spent - and I will ensure that a couple of pairs of elderly/religious undies get disposed of.
- Till spits rec'd in T's for free Ar1el washing stuff (need to think about that I used to react badly to P3rs1l and Ar1el - but suspect I don't any more) and for £1 off B0dyf0rm products - so will probably nip back in tomorrow and make use of both of those before they expire.
- The remaining piece of ham got divided into two leaving plenty for adding to omelettes tomorrow.
- The bargain priced replacement sink plugs we bought seem to do the job admirably with pretty much no water leaking past them. I've dismantled the old ones, they are soaking in water and white vinegar and I will investigate if we can just buy the rubber bits that were what had failed, for the future.
- Made a start on next week's shopping list as MrEH will be charged with dealing with that over the weekend while I am away.
This evening, I need to:
- get some garden stuff done - a trough to be sown, and tomatoes to be checked on. Oh, and get the broad beans sprayed with dilute soap solution again, although to be honest I think we may be fighting a losing battle there.
- get the accommodation for Friday night booked if the price hasn't changed.
- give the bathroom a quick clean
We will be eating couscous with veggies and halloumi.

@EssexHebridean - places like B&M or Home Bargains are good places for folding washing up bowls and fairly cheap too. I need to buy a new one for our motorhome as ours is beginning to look a bit worse for wear! You can also get folding buckets and I'm planning on buying one of those for indoors so that it can go in the cupboard under the draining board so that it's out of the way - my current "bucket" is actually an old paint container!!!6
-
Great re-use of the paint container there! We try to reuse anything and everything - containers of all sorts go into the shed and then get used as and when we can think of a use for them!
I forgot when I did my MSE stuff - MrEH sent his N@t1onw1de £100 to the mortgage last night - we are now down into the £106k's!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Great news on the mortgage!
I must look into these folding buckets, I had no idea they were a thing!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney5 -
We have a folding washing up bowl, we bought it years ago and use it when we go camping. Luckily the 5 children on our last camping trip were fascinated by it and all happily did the washing up 😀
Ours is quite sturdy despite folding so it work well for regular use.
We also have a folding colander for camping which works beautifully and would work in the home.
I've seen the folding buckets and I can see how they could be useful especially if you are tight on storage space.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
