Mortgage coming down nicely already and how motivating to know the OP has knocked a month off the term. Enjoy the pub 🍻I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Enjoy the beers. Hope the gardener chap turns up and great progress is made. Uugh to being soggy. Well done on the walk, I’ve talked myself out of a lunchtime one but will have to do an evening one as the bin needs a walk (have to take it to the top of the lane, not a mad woman who has to take the bin for Walkies)

Ahh that's good info on the compost Vix - thank you. We shied away from it because last time we bought it it was full of really quite chunky woody bits as we recall - and we decided we'd give it a miss in future as a result. I guess perhaps they got feedback from a lot of folk with the same view, in that case! As for the toms - we chanced our luck on the basis that we have a lot of tomato seed and so we may as well get them on the go - I suspect we may come unstuck as they are going to be asking to be planted out before we're really ready for them, but some at least will go in our usual deep pots and can then go into the mini greenhouse so we may yet get away with it! You're winning on the pepper front though - our Hungarian black chillies are doing nothing whatsoever which means they are either lazy, or the seed is just a bit too old.
PiP we invariably end up being given extra vouchers by pals who don't use them - but we hardly ever remember them anyway so we probably wouldn't get through our own supply in an average year!
SA it really is motivating - MrEH keeps a spreadsheet that is rather more detailed than mine and tells him how many months and how much interest we have saved - mine just shows me all the figures and I can scroll to see the changed end date.
L the idea of you taking the bin for a walk made me chuckle - but yes, we're familiar with bins needing to be taken for a stroll. Thankfully the cottage we usually stay in for holiday (and will be back in this year) has the bins right up on the road - not sure I'd fancy having a third of a mile walk with the wheelie bins otherwise! Usually we just take the rubbish in the car as we're going out and MrEH drops it in the relevant bin as he's dealing with the gate - I do occasionally go for a stroll with a bin bag though!
SH I'm certain I will - it's all weather-proofed too, as is the camera, so I don't even have poor weather as a real excuse - although in reality I probably won't be getting it drenched any time all that soon! As for the garden - I'm REALLY hoping we can get it sorted. the sticking point might be how tough the concrete under the slabs proves to get through. we'll see!
Got out for a brief walk at lunchtime although only a mile and made up of looping round the streets near the office as dampness was threatening throughout, and indeed occurred for a bit of it too.
On the subject of BeeandQ I notice I've had an email saying they have 20% off all outdoor plants over the weekend, so I think it's likely we'll go and grab the other herbs we wanted while that is on. Having said that, we might just end up going back to the place we bought from last weekend as we were so impressed with their prices - I'll need to get hold of them and see if they have sage plants ready yet though.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I had a £10.50 off £70 spend offer from the B place - so benefitted from that and the 20% off plants so was pretty pleased. Good luck wherever your venture...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Laughing at your bin adventures. We have to take ours a good 5 min uphill walk every week 🙄 No wheelie bin though - I usually take the bij bags in a wheelbarrow 😂6

I am so glad I don't need to take my bins for a walk. I am really lucky as one of my lovely neighbours must have seen me struggling early last year & always locates my bins & puts them back where they belong. Thankfully I no longer struggle as the hip replacement was a major win, but how do you tell someone that you never bump into that they really don't need to. Not that I am complaining. Out of a dozen neighbours there is only one & that is only the female half that I would rather not have.

Sounds like you have been busy in the garden. Beyond mowing the lawn on a rare sunny afternoon last week we have done barely anything. Loving the insole discussion. I put superfeet insoles from Cotswold outdoors in my walking boots which are horrendously expensive but very comfy. I walk on average about 40 miles a week so I get my moneys worth.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
