"This meant some customers were unable to connect calls to EE numbers, and the issue also affected customers who've previously transferred their number from EE to Vodafone".Numbers transferred or "ported" from EE to any new network, including Three, O2 and Vodafone, were affected, the Vodafone spokesperson added, because three of the digits in the mobile number still identify them as "EE" numbers. That meant that even though they are no longer EE customers, calls are briefly routed through EE's infrastructure.
While those former EE customers could call within their new network, calls to other networks were being affected by the problems at EE, Vodafone said."
I think we were both originally with Orange about 15 years ago ....Double whammy then, EE numbers on Vodafone.
Though I'm seeing some reports that the problem is slowly rectifying and some calls are working again, no VoLTE (4G Calling) working yet.====1 -

It sounds like an incomplete port, internal calls are working but cross network calls are trying to connect to her old provider.Ported in from Three about a month ago and it's been working fine till today. She can call my Lebara number fine but not my O2No different caller IDCalls out to BT landline work fine but back in from BT to her Lebara fails
As lebara piggyback on vodafone a call from a vodafone sim (or an overseas sim roaming on vodafone as I believe you have tried) will treat it is an in-network call, but it sounds like any other network will need to go through the originator of the number.
Problems with calling out sounds different though. Can you try your o2 sim in your spare phone (or try calling it from other non-o2 numbers?)1 -

If I get a new sim from Vodafone with number 07890 123456 and then port it to o2, Three and ee will still identify it as a vodafone number and route calls to them, who will redirect it to o2. O2 will know it's their number now and direct internal calls straight to it if I then port to three do o2 then contact vodafone to redirect calls to three? Or do vodafone direct calls to o2, who then redirect them to three?Once a number if ported it's becomes a number on the new network as if it were their number from the start. There is no contact with the old network.(but the number is still flagged as originating with the first network, and if it's ever cancelled it's returned to the first network from wherever it ended up)
"Phones did not have to still be with EE to have trouble receiving calls, because of the way that ported numbers work on UK phone infrastructure. Even when a phone number is moved onto a different network, it keeps the prefix at the start that identifies it as being part of the old one – and as a result any calls made to that number are briefly routed through the old network’s infrastructure, meaning that customers can be hit by problems at providers they have long moved on from."1 -

Anyway vodafone know all their current numbers so lebara to lebara or voda to lebara or lebara to voda wouldn't be affected but calling or receiving a call from o2 or three could be if the receiving number originated with ee.
I've just worked out my number came from Vodafone (asda) oh's o2 (giffgaff), and daughter's ee (nowmobile).1 -
