I didnt realised about the v5c. I was searching everything about what I should do with updating addresses and all it talked about was updating to DVLA.  Should I change my address now?
How long have you been registered keeper of a car?  How do you think the DVLA send your tax reminders every year if they don’t know where the registered keeper lives?

@KeithP : With a Claim Issue Date of 23rd August, you have until Monday 11th September to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
—> isn’t the due date to file AOS 14 days from issue date which is 6 Sep?
You are not reading the right stuff.
You have all the information to hand.

The back of your County Court Claim Form tells you:

Note the last sentence there - "The day of service is taken as 5 days after the issue date shown overleaf".

    It goes on to say:

Given that I did not receive the notice, I am slapped with a lot more larger charges now. I am happy to pay the initial amount of £40 instead of £260. Do I select 'Defend part of this claim' when filing AOS?

    No you do not.
And you would be unwise to state anywhere that you are happy to pay anything. That is clearly an admission of guilt.

Why not follow the guidance you have already been given?

    Nonononono.

Please do not do this wrong! Please read what to do which is AOS first, then defend in full.

You are also not selecting anything on MCOL except doing the AOS shown in easy step-by-step screenshot pictures in the resource thread you have been signposted to go to,
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • THanks! I have followed the instruction exactly and filed AOS

Good, now you have time to defend this month.

Do not wait to hear anything; that doesn't happen. The ball is in your court still.

  • Reading the instructions on writing my defence, and it recommended one to write it, print it, sign it then send it to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk.
Is it not advisable to write my defence directly in the MCOL portal?
I thought I read somewhere that advises against it but I cant find it anymore - like to confirm here please.

    No it is not advisable.

Your Defence is going to be far too big to fit in the box on the MCOL website and I did write earlier on your very own thread...
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

You've read the guidance. You have even quoted it.

It's over two weeks since your last post here.
Is your Defence ready for filing?

    As I wrote earlier...
...you have until 4pm on Monday 25th September 2023 to file your Defence.

At the time I wrote that you had twenty days to file a Defence.

You now have less than eighteen hours t file your Defence.

Thanks for the quick response @KeithP. I have drafted and ready to send. Another question - my defense is that I received no prior letters until the claim form. is it worth asking for all the evidences (e.g. photos, details) of the POC?
