Only Received Letter of Claim (but I didnt noticed that until now) and Claim Form

I received a Claim Form with claimant being UK Parking Control Limited. Then I went through my old letters in case I missed out anything, and found that I did actually receive a Letter of Claim in July - that was my bad but I have been going on holidays in Jul and Aug. I definitely didnt received anything else before then. In the claim form, it said I got a parking charge something early this year. I have updated my drivers license with my new address since Q3 2022. What should I do with the Claim Form?

I didnt realised about the v5c. I was searching everything about what I should do with updating addresses and all it talked about was updating to DVLA.  Should I change my address now?

Yes as the NEWBIES thread explains; we don't repeat it here.  It is there as a resource, to save us from having to state the same old stuff on every thread.

And obviously yes, you MUST urgently update your V5C.  My Goodness, you are in breach of the DVLA rules at the moment, and that is an offence with a real £1000 fine risked.

With a Claim Issue Date of 23rd August, you have until Monday 11th September to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it. 

To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.

Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 25th September 2023 to file your Defence.

That's three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. 

To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.

Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Of course you should, unless you want to risk a real "fine" of up to £1,000.

The second post in the Newbies/FAQ thread advises exactly what you should do. You don't "raise" an AoS. You file your AoS using the MCOL website. Once you have done that, you need to prepare your defence using the template from the Template Defence thread and you should print off the 12-point checklist in the first post of that thread.

—> isn’t the due date to file AOS 14 days from issue date which is 6 Sep?

Nope. 19 days.

Read your claim form if you want to know why there is an extra 5 days but why not just do the easy AOS now (shown in 'page by page' pictures in a link in the NEWBIES thread).
