I've not seen the CCBC used for set asides, but I am not very well acquainted with set asides.

I do know that the MCOL process struggles with longish documents - like Defences and even destroys the formatting of shorter documents.
For 'struggles with' read 'cannot cope'.

Suggest you wait for someone else to advise on whether the Civil National Business Centre (CNBC) - the new name for the CCBC - in Northampton is appropriate for this.

Either the CNBC or your local court. Email your application then phone up & pay the fee.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi Coupon-mad,

Excuse me, I've been searching for this info on the threads but cannot find.  My 'local court' being my local county court or magistrates?

Without having to scour back through the whole thread... which court issued the CCJ?

For the CNBC use ccbcaq@justice.gov.uk. If you have been told it is your local court, then use this link to find  it and the contact details:

    https://www.find-court-tribunal.service.gov.uk/
  • OK I'm super confused, but I've found this info online:

    • HM Courts and Tribunal Service back-office (Parts 3, 7, 13, 14, 26, 71, 72, 73, 83, 84, 89) – technical amendments are made following organisational changes in the back-office units at the County Court Business Centre (at Northampton) and County Court Money Claim Centre (at Salford) which are being replaced by the creation of the Civil National Business Centre (CNBC) at Northampton.
so basically CCBC is now CNBC, correct?  There is no information on MCOL when I log-in saying the CCJ is applied by my local court, but it doesn't say which court applied it either.....
  • to be clear, the Claim Form I received late in the post to my new address states 'In the COUNTY COURT BUSINESS CENTRE'

Keith already told you this is the case.

Your case was never allocated to a local court.

If the CCBC (now CNBC) issued the default CCJ and you have not received any directions from the court that your hearing for the set aside has been moved to your local court, then your WS must go to the CCBC (CNBC). Otherwise, if you have received directions that your set aside hearing is to be conducted at your local court, then it is there that you send your WS.
