Thought i'd revive this as i took this deal myself at the start of October and with price cap due to drop again in April i thought i'd mess about wth some numbers. Based on my usage i reckon between 7th October and 20th March, so very approx 2 price cap periods,  it's cost us approx £50 to fix on this rate as opposed to going with the cap. I can live with that considering i was saving considerably more than this per month for 2 years prior to this fix and was extremely fortunate to be honest. I also had certainty of prices over that period too.

Yes, the cap will drop even further in April, but with hopefully better weather coming in sooner rather than later usage will drop a fair bit. Also, will be able to shop about middle/late August to see what's about then.

Reason i looked just now was because i hadn't checked in on our energy costs since start of October and wanted to see if if was worth the £150 exit fees for us get out. It's not even close for us and would imagine that's the case for everyone that's not fairly  high users. Just going to sit tight till August and will look at it then,
