Anyone else notice that their Octopus energy account is slow to update to reflect payments taken?
I had a payment teken 3 or 4 days ago, and it still hasn't changed. The money definately left my account
What happened to the age of the computer? Instantaneous? Carrier pigeon more like!

Ive just joined them and I am sure I read on an email from them saying it takes 4 days for payments to update on the account so should be no dramas for you but if concerned drop them a message.0

Been with Octopus just under 2 years. Always been the same with DD payments being credited to my account.
Makes no difference as I know the money has been taken from the bank and will be credited within the allotted time.
A major plus for Octopus is when I submit my readings the electric reading is updated nearly instantly. The gas normally takes around 36 hours to validate. Other companies take days, weeks or months to produce updated balances. I submit 2 readings a month. One on the 15th when DD is taken and one on the last day of the month.
Still in the past with an analogue meter! Will get one in the future.

It shows as pending for a few days yes. I really don't see the issue.0

These days when monies leave your account by direct transfer it generally arrives in the recipient account same day. The recipient account here is Octopus bank account, not your customer account. The customer payments received by Octopus will now have to be allocated to the relevant customer accounts to offset your bills.0

Yes - I think that is correct. But I never had to request a stop on a DD so untested by me.0

Where does it show as pending? It's now been 4 days, still nothing.Payments shuffled through numerous accounts should make no material difference timewise if the transactions are processed efficiently. That sounds like a poor excuse to me.If it were reversed, surely that should show instantly also.I'm afraid that i'm still left with the impression the service is slow, and clunky. At the end of the day, when I pay a bill, it should be reflected on my account within seconds, not days. Anything else is just excuses.0

Just like if you pay by cheque, you have to wait for it to clear before funds are available.
Do all your other payments to other companies show up at the moment they are transferred? I know for sure that many of mine don't.1 -

At least it does for me.0 -

At least it does for me.And for me.There's an equivalent entry on your account if you access via the web, too, rather than the app. Also, I'm not aware of the "slow update" ever causing any problems in practice. Octopus know they have your payment as soon as it shows as pending.
