No the point is why are you considering everyone without a receipt is a thief. How could you possibly tell by looking (apart from the obvious) which ones are lying and which ones arent. You cant.0

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. If customer have lost their receipt and can't get a refund/exchange, Marks and Spencers do not have to do anything about it. Just deal it and don't blame Marks for not getting your own way.0

Unless you have the original receipt, the refund will be a credit note. If you can get the original, the refund will be in the same form as the original payment (and if by card, to the original card).Gone ... or have I?0 -
So I'll need the original not a gift receipt?Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:0

yes, the gift receipt is just to make sure you get the price that was paid for the item and not the current selling price,(which could be now in the sale),even if you had the origional receipt if they paid by card it would still be credit voucher.0

I used to work for Marks, and you always received a credit voucher for the last selling price if you did not have a receipt. I'm not sure if this has changed in the last year though? Also there are a lot of temps this time of year which could explain the various different replies?
The gift receipt is just to prove what price was paid for the item to stop you getting the last price listed. You still should get credit vouchers unless you have the original receipt.Quidco Earnings (since Dec 06): £467.750 -

If the OP took the original card with them (I often use my mum's card!), they could have a refund on to that card.Gone ... or have I?0 -
you arent meant to use someone elses card though are you.0

And it has been known for people to buy the item again and ask for a gift receipt. Then return one item with the till receipt and one item with the gift receipt to get pass the 'haven't got a receipt' issue!Financial Aims for 2012:
