It's more a question of what happens when it goes wrong, what we're discussing is in the very slim chance someone pinches the parcel from your garage do you take that on the chin or expect the retailer to do something about it, or rather than asking you or I what we think, what does the legislation mean with regards to where the line is drawn.sheramber said:That is up to the individual whether they consider that is good enough.
One person can consider a parcel left at the back door is good enough, another need not.
Again individual choice. If it is considered not good enough, don't use the service.
My postie left parcels in my garage. I considered that good enough. You may not
I used to hate orders to student accommodation, pretty much everything was sold through marketplace where you are potentially punished for cancelling orders, had I also operated through a website or such any orders to certain higher risk places would have been declined and refunded.Undervalued said:
The porters lodge at many colleges, often with hundreds of students, are signing for dozens of parcels a day on behalf of those resident. Is that good enough? In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Yes , I would accept it if it was stolen, just as OI would accept it about anything else stole from my unlocked garage.
I was asked why anyone would choose to pay extra for a tracked or signed for post and gave my answer to thst - not the legal position of a parcel going missing.0
