Zero standing charge

Lots of us support it because we believe everyone who uses electricity should have to help the country get to net zero, not just income tax payers. If paying a little more on your standing charge encourages some to use less power, then it's got to be a good thing for the world.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

You spot the difference? Then there is the assumption you seem to be making that the usage level of electric has no bearing on infrastructure costs and merely each household has an equal cost to the infrastructure regardless of consumption.Perhaps finally the assumption that people not supportive of whats going on, want there to be no SC at all, thats not necessarily the case, I would be happy enough to just revert to how SC was working pre October 2021 with a change of credit balances being fully isolated, this is also what Martin is trying to push for.I think the people ignorant of it is probably bigger than the people who support it. To clarify that more. The combined amount a majority.I would at least like you to accept its not 'little' for everyone. Please show some empathy.

I remember a clip of friends I seen not long ago someone posted on social media, and I feel it represents modern society so well now. It was an episode where they were having a meal out, and some of them barely ordered anything because they couldnt afford it but they went to be part of the group, and the other two had a proper meal, then when the bill came the richer members of the group were shocked that the other two were not happy sharing the bill on an equal basis, they just couldnt understand why as they were in their own bubble. Eventually it was explained to them and if I remember right they did end up paying the bill.1
