I have now received a letter from HM Courts and Tribunals service ordering the payment of £320. I did not receive the original fine of £100. I was only notified when they sent a letter to say I had ignored the original letter with a £100 fine. Because of this the fine became £170. I did speak to the company that had fined us and offered to pay the original fine and explained I had not received the original letter. They refused my offer so I refused to pay and came here for advice. I sent them the email draft from the newbies section. Since then I have had letters from different debt recovery companies but never replied. Now I need more advice as I have received the court order but did not respond on time and have now received another letter ordering the payment of £320. HELP!

Looks like you ignored the Money Claim pack, which goes to a default Judgment 3 to 4 weeks later ( after 19 days. )

So you are probably going to have to try a negotiated settlement, so may receive a pm about it this week

    But

If you had defended it within those 19 days, with our help you wouldn't have paid a penny ( sorry to be so blunt. )

Why on earth didn't you just use the Template Defence in time? You will now have a CCJ. What's the date of the judgment please? You can negotiate.
