Smart parking fine

Hello all
i have received a letter from debt recovery plus for a overstaying the permitted time at Bentley bridge Wolverhampton. The creditor is smart parking ltd. In this letter it states I have received previous letters and have not responded although I haven’t received any other letters. I have spoke with debt recovery plus and they have been unhelpful but have stated the parking charge date was 10/05/2023 and the original letter I haven’t received was sent on the 12/07/2023. They’ve provided 2 photos showing the front and back of the car with times of entry and exit as evidence of the parking charge. The fine now stands at £170 or £42.50 for 4 months. Can I appeal this in any way as I haven’t received the original letter which would of allowed a payment of £60 or is there anything I can do as the original letter was sent 33 days after the parking charge date. Any advice would be more than welcome thankyou

No appeal available now - too late. Ignore DRP, they are powerless, they can't do anything other than send silly letters. Please read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post to learn about debt recovery agents. Never phone a debt collector or parking firm, neither have anything to offer you.Smart Parking don't pursue single parking tickets via litigation - just forget about them.although I haven’t received any other letters.Maybe your DVLA details aren't up to date - your V5C (logbook) specifically, not your driving licence. Please check your V5C, because it's those details the DVLA pass to parking firms. If it's not up to date, you're exposed to a fine of £1,000 by the DVLA, so a physical check is pretty much essential. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Obviously you don't pay, @keith94 - and no taking DRP seriously of course! Ignore them. NO RINGING THEM. You know that from the NEWBIES FAQS thread 4th post.
Didn't we have another one this week saying the same thing - first letter was from DRPlus despite the person not moving house and their logbook address being correct? Seems very suspicious.

Unfortunately I came here as a last resort so phone calls had already been made, will this be an issue? Is there anything that can be done to keep them off our backs or just end it. All details are correct in the logbook, on the license etc. thanks for your responseCoupon-mad said:Obviously you don't pay, @keith94 - and no taking DRP seriously of course! Ignore them. Is there anything that can be done to keep them off our backs or just end it.Landowner intervention and cancellation. The only other option, which we do not recommend, involves getting your chequebook out. Don't feed the scam, it just makes it worse, and marks you down as someone easily intimidated into parting with their hard-earned cash!

And never refer to these as "fines" - that word will never appear in any of their correspondence - they are at best speculative invoices issued by an unregulated company.1

Just cheerfully ignore them!
TOTALLY IGNORE THE £170 DEMANDS.
Ignoring the threatograms is already covered in the fourth post of the Newbies thread and that advice remains unchanged for over a decade. Not a single person here takes the likes of Debt Recovery Plus seriously.
Do nothing else except come back here in August please, because the Govt (DLUHC) are about to announce the final stages of regulating this rogue industry and will be publishing a draft Assessment and detailed analysis and calling for evidence.
You will want your voice heard I'm sure! We will be all over it and publication by the DLUHC is now overdue.
Come back here in August please.

I have no knowledge on this subject whatsoever but the only stupid question is the one that doesn’t get asked. What will happen if I ignore DRP and why are they powerless? What do you mean smart parking don’t pursue single tickets via litigation? Again thanks very much for your help and repliesUmkomaas said:No appeal available now - too late. My apologies I think we may have been writing our replies at the same time. One last question, is it too late for me to use the template from the newbies faq as I still have the appeal option on the smart parking website. Again thankyou for your patience and helpCoupon-mad said:Please read the NEWBIES thread first.
