GE Money card

Anyone else having problems?

Got the final bill in November marked payby 12/12/2007.

Paid online through my bank on 5/12/2007.

Checked and the money has defo gone from my account.

Spoke to the helpdesk and explained. She said she would freeze my account and I wouldn't be able to use it, but that would also freeze the interest. Hmmmmm

She confirmed that the payment reference was valid.

I have written a polite letter and included a copy of the statement.

Are they trying it on?

SAME!!! Paid on the 5th - money has left my Lloyds account but GE Money didnt get the money. The latest statement shows a non-payment with interest and a late payment fee.

Called GE Money and they have no record of the payment being made. I callled Lloyds and they are going to chase it up.

  • Yeah me too, I paid online through A&L on 4/12/2007 but they have no record of payment. They have charged a late payment fee, deferred interest & interest. I contacted A&L they confirm payment was sent to the correct account. GE Money say they will investigate. Lets see what happens next.

I pay mine by DD and the payment for this month was processed fine. The final statement that came through today shows a final balance of zero.

Looks like this problem only appears to be with payments made using online banking.

Me too....paid through Lloyds online on the 5th as I normally do.....never had a problem before....when i rung them up yesterday to complain the girl seemed to be prepaired for my complaint:confused: .....I told her that I thought it was very coincidental that these problems were occurring with the last payment after the 3% was withdrawn.....or am i being too cynical :rotfl:

Same for me, paid on ther 5th Dec as normal but GE didn't get it. All other payments have been made in the same way and worked fine. I called GE and they wiped off the £12 late payment fee and interest and have said they will investigate within 28 days. The lady said all people who paid via internet banking on the 5th were affected and I didn't need to pay anything now.

Meanwhile this morning I got another letter demanding immeadiate payment.

Same story here - payment left my account on the 5th Dec, and not received by GE Money. Phoned them up, and they said they would look into it and get back to me in the next 7-10 days. Also got the payment demand letter today.

To top it off, since they said they would stop the 3% card a few months ago, they also stopped me logging into the GE Money account online, so I can't even check to see what's happening!

Maybe they're trying to recover some of the 3% cashback paid out via their 0870 phone line?

    Say No to 0870!

You can use the international number on the back of the statement

Thanks, I did and used 02081810000. ;) Just saying that not everyone would have done that.

Just to keep people updated, Ge Money actually called me today to ask "why my account was overdue a payment". I had a moan and referred them to this forum saying it wasn't just me. They took some details and they are now "investigating". Hopefully a quick solution as both GE Money and Lloyds are both trying to sort it out.
